After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, América returned home aiming to take control of the series—and they quickly tilted the tie in their favor.
Just 25 minutes in, Nigerian defender Chidinma Okeke opened the scoring for the ‘Águilas’ with a header off a corner kick. Four minutes later, it was Nicolette Hernández’s turn to score after a brilliant team play and a backheel assist from Sarah Luebbert, who would go on to make it 2-0.
América sealed the match in the first half. In the 41st minute, Angelique Saldivar finished calmly to the far post to make it 3-0, and just before the break (45+2), Okeke struck again—this time with a left-footed shot from another corner.
The final goal came in the 57th minute when Saldivar unleashed a stunning long-range strike that was impossible for goalkeeper Renata Masciarelli to stop. América will now face Chivas in the semifinals, setting up a new edition of the Clásico Nacional, this time in the women’s game.

Pachuca 1.30 | Atlas 7.50 | Empate: 4,57 |
Pachuca also lived up to expectations and eliminated Atlas with an aggregate score of 5-2. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, the ‘Tuzas’ took control at home—though it wasn’t as easy as they might have expected.
In the 13th minute, the home side opened the scoring through Ayo Oke, who only had to tap the ball into the net after a perfect assist from Nina Nicosia, who left her alone in front of an empty goal.
In the second half, at the 60-minute mark, the tournament’s top scorer, Charlyn Corral, converted a penalty to make it 2-0.
However, María Paula Salas pulled one back with a fantastic free-kick goal that briefly added tension to the match. But it was just a mirage—four minutes later, Charlyn scored again, rounding the keeper and finishing calmly for her 21st goal of the season.
In the closing minutes, the final blow came from Daniela Flores, who headed in a cross from Claudia Ibarra to seal the 4-1 win and secure their place in the semifinals, where they will face the reigning champions, Monterrey.

The biggest surprise of the quarterfinals came from Guadalajara, who defeated Pumas 1-0 on the road and advanced to the semifinals of the Liga MX Femenina with a 3-0 aggregate score.
The ‘Felinas’ were the more aggressive side, recording 20 shots and seven corner kicks. However, they ran into an outstanding Blanca Félix, who made eight saves—some of them spectacular—cementing her status as the standout player of the match.
The only goal of the game came in the 69th minute when Carolina Jaramillo sent a pass to Alicia Cervantes, who controlled it well and finished even better to make it 1-0 and seal the series.
Clausura MX Fem Quarterfinals Second Leg: Monterrey vs Tigres
Monterrey 2.62 | Tigres 2.37 | Draw Offs: 3.40 |
To wrap up the quarterfinals, we had a derby that saw the reigning champions, Monterrey, secure a spot in the semifinals after a dramatic 1-1 draw against Tigres. The aggregate score also ended 2-2, but Monterrey advanced thanks to having finished fourth in the regular season, while Tigres were fifth.
It’s worth remembering that in the first leg, the ‘Rayadas’ also managed a late equalizer, with Christina Burkenroad scoring in the 90+2nd minute.
In this match, it was once again the ‘Felinas’ who took the lead. In the 37th minute, Thembi Kgatlana made a brilliant solo run and assisted Jheniffer Cordinali, who calmly slotted home to make it 0-1.
The bad news for the ‘Amazonas’ came at the end of the first half, when a foul on Lizbeth Ovalle forced her to leave the match in an ambulance and head to the hospital—an unfortunate loss of their star player.
Tigres had several chances to seal the series but failed to capitalize, and once again, in the 90+2nd minute, disaster struck. A long ball from Alice Soto was expertly controlled in the box by Jermaine Seoposenwe, who finished through the keeper’s legs, sending the BBVA Stadium into a frenzy and propelling Monterrey into the semifinals, where they’ll face a strong Pachuca side.
