French Open Fourth Round Preview

After very intense days at Roland Garros 2022 in the French Open, we are one step away from entering the quarterfinals of the tournament. There the greatest exponents of tennis worldwide will be measured to seek their advance to the next phase; the semifinals, and be much closer to a grand final as important as this one.

The best tennis players according to the ATP ranking have been able to demonstrate why they are located at the top of this list, achieving victories in their respective matches. This is the case with Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev, who already have their ticket to the quarterfinals, after their excellent victories in the round of 16.

French Open: Men’s Tennis

Djokovic, once again the #1 in the world according to the ATP ranking, authoritatively defeated Argentine Diego Schwartzman with scores of 6-1, 6-3, and 6-3. The German and #3 in the world, Zverev did the same against the Spaniard Zapata, but with a little more resistance from the Spaniard, ending the match with partials of 7-6, 7-5, and 6-3.

French Open: Women’s Tennis

In the women’s category, we have two pleasant surprises in this French Open, the promising CoCo Gauff and Leilah Fernández, the young finalist of the last US Open. Both have already sealed their ticket to the quarterfinals and will try to do their best to be one step closer to the finals.

Interesting Matchups

The next matches that we can enjoy in the individual modality will be this Monday, May 30, 2022. There we will be witnessing the last day of the fourth round of the tournament or the round of 16, where we will find out who will be the other 4 tennis players will be part of the quarterfinals. This will be in both categories, male and female.

While in the men’s doubles modality, we will already be enjoying the quarterfinals where the couple made up of the British Lloyd Glasspool and the Finn Harri Heliovaara are the favorites to advance to the semifinals in one of the keys. While on Tuesday, May 31, we have Ram and Salisbury as the other favorites to be in the semifinals.

On the other hand, in the women’s doubles, the fourth round of the tournament will be played. There the couple made up of Rosolska / Routliffe and Kudermetova / Mertens, are the clear favorites to advance to the next phase of the tournament.

Although there are still several days to go before the tournament ends; the best matches will be this week. Now we will have some extremely exciting days for all tennis lovers.
