The ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro 2021 is one of the most anticipated events of the year, without a doubt, and this year it celebrates its 34th edition. The expectations in this event are higher than ever, after the resounding success that the organizers had in the event held last year, in which, complying with all biosafety protocols, it became one of the first sporting events held with the public, maintaining its high sporting level.
More than 150 surfers from around the world will participate in this event that takes place from June 27 to July 4, 2021, in Spain.
LATAM contenders at SURFING: ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro
- Candelaria Resano
Candelaria Resano is a Nicaraguan surfer who is currently 15 years old and comes from a family that carries surfing in its veins, since she, along with her 3 sisters, has been surfing on the coast of Costa Rica since she was 7 years old. Their father, a fervent lover of surfing, has instilled in them the culture of surfing from a very young age and they have adopted it to complete perfection.
Her time in the CT has been very short, since, at his young age, it is not very common to see surfers in large professional events, in the same way, since 2016 she has been in the professional world of surfing. This year she participated in the El Salvador Impressive Cup where he ranked 85 and scored 255 points. Then she participated in the Essential Costa Rica Pro, in 2018, where she ranked fifth and scored 630 points. In 2019 she participated in the Deeply Pro Anglet occupying 49th place and, finally, this year 2021 she hopes to take the big step and make a spectacular performance in this ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro.

- Raul Bormann
Raul Bormann is a 23-year-old Brazilian surfer who has been in the world of the Championship Tour of world surfing since 2017 when he played all the professional events of that year. In his debut, his best position was in the Caparica Pro where he ranked 17th and managed to add 200 points in the CT. In 2018 he continued to participate in many important surfing events, but it was not his best year, since his best participation was in the Caraïbos Lacanau Pro where he ranked 33 and got 180 points. Then in 2019 in the Carve Pro, he managed to add 200 points and came in 17th place in the tournament.
For this 2021 Bormann will try to capture what Brazilian surfers have accustomed us throughout history, and that is to always be in the first places of all the tournaments in which they participate.
