The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Washington Commanders in a decisive victory, claiming the NFC title by a score of 55-23. Led by outstanding performances from players like Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, the Eagles secured their place in the Super Bowl for the third time in the last seven years (one win, one defeat).
Jalen Hurts impressed with 246 air yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while A. J. Brown contributed 96 yards receiving and a touchdown. The Eagles defense also shined, forcing 3 Commanders’ fumbles.
Despite the loss, rookie Jayden Daniels had a strong performance, throwing for 255 yards and scoring a pass and a touchdown on the ground. Meanwhile, tight end Zach Ertz racked up 105 yards receiving on 11 receptions.
In the first quarter, Eagles standout running back Saquon Barkley scored two touchdowns on the ground, including a 60-yard run and taking advantage of a Washington turnover.
The Commanders attempted a gutsy play with a fake punt that led to another successful conversion on fourth down, but Philadelphia’s defense held firm, allowing only another field goal early in the second quarter.
Both teams scored on the opening series of the second half, with the Eagles extending their lead to 34-15 via a nine-yard Jalen Hurts ground touchdown. Despite Washington responding with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, the Eagles held an 11-point lead at 34-23 towards the end of the third quarter.
An interception by Quinyon Mitchell sealed the Eagles victory, while backup running back Will Shipley scored his first career touchdown with a 57-yard run before crossing the goal line on a two-yard run.
The win marked a significant accomplishment for the Eagles as they scored the most points in a conference championship game since the 1970 merger. In addition, their seven ground touchdowns in a postseason game had not been seen since 1940.
The Eagles will now advance to Super Bowl LIX next February 9, seeking their second championship, having previously won in 2018

The Kansas City Chiefs secured a thrilling 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills, keeping alive their hopes for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl Championship. They will face the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, in what will be their seventh Super Bowl appearance.
The game started with the Bills having the ball, but quarterback Josh Allen struggled, and the Chiefs’ defense missed interception opportunities. The Chiefs then took the lead with a 90-yard, nine-play offensive series, capped by a 12-yard touchdown run by Kareem Hunt. The Bills answered back with a 53-yard field goal kicked by Tyler Bass.
The Chiefs came close to extending their lead late in the first quarter, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes fumbled the ball, allowing the Bills to take the lead in the second quarter on a 67-yard touchdown run by James Cook. However, the Chiefs rallied, scoring 14 unanswered points, including two touchdowns by Mahomes and one touchdown reception by rookie Xavier Worthy.
The Bills narrowed the gap before the half with a Josh Allen touchdown to Mack Hollins, but a failed two-point conversion left the score at 21-16 in favor of the Chiefs.
The Bills managed to take the lead in the third quarter with a one-yard touchdown run by James Cook, but Mahomes regained the lead for the Chiefs in the final quarter with his second touchdown run of the game and a successful two-point conversion.
Buffalo tied the game on a touchdown pass from Allen to Curtis Samuel, but the Chiefs regained the lead with a 35-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.
