March Madness NCAA: Final Four – Update

The NCAA already has a Final Four for the men’s draw of its basketball tournament. There was no final surprise with St. Peter’s, this year’s Cinderella in March Madness, and four of the sport’s great universities having qualified for the finals. Kansas and North Carolina have closed a table in which Villanova and Duke had ensured continuity. The final phase will be between Saturday, April 2, and Monday, April 4 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, with a capacity of 73,000 spectators.

A week of preparation is what the four teams will have for the Final Four, which will be played from Saturday, April 2, and is one of the most anticipated, since, for the first time in history, a match of the greatest college basketball rivalry in the NCAA tournament will happen in a final stay.

The greatest rivalry in NCAA history is, without a doubt, North Carolina vs. Duke, so this game is one of the most anticipated by all college basketball fans, and what better way to watch it than in a final phase of a tournament as important as March Madness 2022.

Duke left Cal-State Fullerton, Michigan State, Texas Tech, and Arkansas on the way to be the champion of the Western Region, in which they were #2 behind Gonzaga, #1 in the entire tournament, and who surprisingly was left out in the Sweet 16 after a terrible loss against the Razorbacks. This is a college that has a lot of tradition in NCAA history, but even though they didn’t have the best season and were #8 in the Eastern Region, they managed to beat Marquette in the first round, then crushed #1 and current champion of this tournament, Baylor, in extra time, followed by wins against UCLA and “Cinderella” Saint Peter’s to reach the Final Four.

North Carolina reaches the final of this March Madness after beating Duke with a score of 77-81 in the game that generates the greatest rivalry in American college basketball. This also marks the end of Mike Krzyzewski’s career. Coach K leaves the Blue Devils’ bench after 42 seasons, 1,097 wins in 1,400 games, and five NCAA championships in 13 Final Four appearances.

Kansas, with 32 wins before March Madness, and as the team with the best win-loss record, will face Villanova in this first match of the Final Four where we will find out which team will be the first place on this complicated podium.

Only one #1 has reached these defining stages, Kansas, which they did by beating Texas, Creighton, Providence, and Miami (FL) in route to their first Final Four since 2018 in San Antonio. Kansas’ last appearance in the national semifinals ended with a loss to the Villanova Wildcats, their rival for this game.
