The Cheltenham Gold Cup Each is a Grade 1 European horse race made each year at the New Course. This is a beautiful grass racecourse in Cheltenham, England. This track has a distance of 3 miles and 2 ½ furlongs and, throughout its length, there are 22 fences to jump. This race is very popular and takes place every March at the Cheltenham Festival.
This is a steeplechase and is open to horses 5 years and older and is the most prestigious race of all the National Hunt events. Among the most prestigious horses that have achieved victory in this race, we have Arkle, Best Mate, Golden Miller, Kauto Star, Denman, and Mill House.
This Gold Cup is Great Britain’s most valuable race and is handicap free. This year the prize pool is set to increase considerably from last season and is going to reach £625,000; second only to the Randox Grand National.
