2022 FA Community Shield Preview and Betting Odds

The 2022 FA Community Shield will be the 100th edition of the tournament, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season’s Premier League and the winners of the previous season’s FA Cup.

For the first time in 10 years, the match will take place away from the usual Wembley Stadium. This is due to the hosting of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Final between England and Germany and will instead be played at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

Leicester City were the defending champions as winners of the 2021 FA Community Shield against Manchester City; but they didn’t qualify for this edition, as they failed to win either the Premier League or FA Cup.

You can check the Premier League bets, the analysis of each squad and the final bet, and its analysis of each match of the tournament.

Why Bet on Liverpool

The Reds come in as the FA Cup Winners.

Klopp, has yet to win the competition for the FA Community Shield, having been forced to settle for a runners-up spot twice in 2019 and 2020.

Liverpool has not won the Community Shield since 2006 when they beat Chelsea 2-1 thanks to a late Peter Crouch winner.

Why Bet on Manchester City

Manchester City comes into the match as the reigning premier league champions.

Spaniard Guardiola has won the Community Shield on two previous occasions with City but has not lifted the first trophy of the season since 2019.

Final Betting Analysis: Liverpool vs. Manchester City

With teams often holding something back for the start of the Premier League season, there’s little incentive to go all-out for a victory in 90 minutes.

As a result, three of the last five Community Shield games have ended level, requiring a penalty shootout.

Liverpool and penalty shootouts have gone hand-in-hand over the past few months, and with barely anything to separate the two sides on the pitch – barring the likely starting goalkeepers – we are backing Klopp’s side to harness their prowess and experience from the spot to come out on top.
