The Matchday 7 of the Torneo Apertura of Liga MX was played and there is a new leader since Toluca went on to command the table.
The Red Devils took advantage of the defeat of Tigres and, thanks to their 3-1 victory against Tijuana, they stayed at the top of the tournament with 17 points. Carlos González, Jean Meneses and Camilo Sanvezzo scored for the winners, while Edgar López scored for the Xolos, who are eighth.
For their part, Tigres dropped to third place after their 2-0 loss to Pachuca. The Felines were one man down at 14 minutes after Jesús Angulo’s red card. Precisely after that foul, Nicolás Ibáñez opened the scoring. Ibáñez himself was in charge of marking the second and giving the victory to the Tuzos, who climbed to fourth place.
The second of the tournament is Monterrey, who showed no mercy to León and crushed them 5-1. Arturo González scored a hat-trick while Germán Berterame made it twice and Rogelio Funes Mori missed a penalty. Byron Castillo scored the goal of honor in the visit.

Necaxa was the only visitor to win on a Matchday where there were no draws. It was 1-2 against Atlético San Luis thanks to goals from Facundo Batista and Fernando Madrigal. Milton Giménez scored an own goal and it was his second in the tournament.
Santos was another surprise with its 4-0 win over Cruz Azul. Javier Correa, Hugo Rodríguez, Eduardo Aguirre, and Carlos Orrantia scored for those from Torreón who reached sixth place while leaving their rivals in eleventh place.
In the duel between the teams at the bottom, the winner was Atlas. The Foxes did not mind playing with one less after the expulsion of Hugo Nervo at 33 minutes and they beat Querétaro 3-1. Luis Reyes, Jonathan Herrera, and Julián Quiñones scored for the two-time champions who are now 13th. The White Roosters, for their part, are last with only two points, and together with Chivas, they are the only teams that have not been able to win.
Precisely those from Guadalajara fell again, this time against Mazatlán in another game at the bottom of the table. It was a 2-1 win for Gabriel Caballero’s team that had Alfonso Sánchez and Oswaldo Alanís as their scorers. Ángel Zaldivar scored Chivas’ goal off the rebound after Nicolás Vikonis blocked his penalty.
The weekend was closed by América and their 2-1 victory against Juárez, which leaves them tied with 7 points for the last place in the playoffs (along with Atlas and Atlético San Luis). Henry Martín scored a brace for the locals while Alan Medina scored for the visit. In addition, Maximiliano Silvera missed a penalty in Juárez.
The only game that was not played on this Matchday was Puebla against Pumas since the UNAM team was playing the Joan Gamper Trophy with Barcelona, where they lost 6-0.
