Liga MX: Clausura 2022 Dates and Times

Liga MX announced the schedule for the final two games of the Clausura 2022 Grand Finale.

The duel for the title between Pachuca and Atlas will have its first chapter next Thursday, May 26 at the Jalisco Stadium and the champion will be crowned Sunday, May 29 at the Hidalgo Stadium.

First leg: Thursday, May 26 at 9:00 p.m. at the Jalisco Stadium

Second leg: Sunday, May 29 at 8:10 p.m. at the Hidalgo Stadium

Unlike the previous stages of the Liguilla, the position in the table no longer counts for the final.

In the event of a tie on the overall score after 180 minutes, after the round trip, the series will be extended to extra time and if there is still no winner, the championship will be defined in a penalty shootout.

Pachuca , the favorite, has the advantage that the second game of the grand final will be played at home, at Hidalgo Stadium, so the series will begin on the road at Jalisco Stadium next Thursday.

Both teams met for the last time on March 2 on the eighth day of Clausura 2022 , the day Pachuca came out with the three points from the Jalisco Stadium with Roberto de la Rosa’s solitary score four minutes from the end.

In the history of the finals, this will be the second time that Pachuca and Atlas meet in an instance of the Liguilla. The last one took place in the semi-finals of Winter 1999, a phase where the red and black team arrived as leaders, while the Tuzos had finished in seventh place and had come from the playoffs.

That key match began with 2-0 win in favor of Pachuca at Hidalgo Stadium. In the second leg, which was held at the Jalisco Stadium, Atlas won 1-0, but failed to tie the overall score that would have given them a place in the final.

Pachuca finally landed its first league championship in that semester, in the final they beat Cruz Azul with a golden goal from Alejandro Glaría, making it 3-2 in the Azul Stadium.
