Throughout his boxing career, he has defeated great boxers such as Kevin Mitchell, Ivan Cano, twice Anthony Crolla, Luke Campbell, and Mercito Gesta. He became the lightweight king up until 2018 when Vasily Lomachenko defeated him in the fight held in New York.

Devin Haney, the WBC world champion, says that this will be one of the toughest fights he has had to date as he will be facing one of the best boxers in the world. In addition, Linares has been one of Haney’s childhood idols, so defeating him would be an honor for the young world champion.
