For lovers of motorsports, this weekend will have many emotions. The Biķernieki circuit, in Latvia, will host a magnificent double event that the 2021 FIA World Rallycross Championship gives us, the Ferratum World RX of RIGA. In this weekend event, the best drivers in the Rallycross world will battle it out on each of the circuits. What makes this tournament interesting, is that it will be the last time the visit to Latvia is made with combustion cars.

Speaking a bit about the Biķernieki circuit, we can say that it is the only permanent motor racing circuit in the whole country. It was built in 1950 as a temporary racing track. Throughout its history, Biķernieki served to host motorsport, both on two and four wheels.

Since 2016, Biķernieki has been part of the FIA ​​World Rallycross Championship calendar. Today it features a unique 1,295-meter design and was created by Apex Circuit Design.

In this event of the FIA ​​World Rallycross Championship, we will have the joy of seeing, as mentioned before, two events on the same weekend. This time, a winner of the Ferratum World RX of Rīga will be determined on Saturday and another on Sunday. In addition to this, Latvian competitors Jānis Baumanis and Edijs Ošs will compete for glory in the FIA ​​European Rallycross Championship (Euro RX1).

The event begins on Saturday, with free practice at 10:30 is (Local Time). The first qualifying races will begin at 12:00 pm (Local Time). All the competitors of the FIA ​​World Rallycross Championship will compete in 3 qualifying rounds. This will give us the names of the drivers who will be present in the semifinals and, later, those who qualify for the finals. The final race will be at 5:00 pm (Local Time).

Meanwhile, the Latvian drivers will have their first qualifying round on Saturday.

On Sunday, the event begins at 10:00 am (Local Time). This is because at 11:00 am (Local Time), it will be the fifth qualifying round of the World RX. After all the qualifying races, the fastest drivers will compete in the finals starting at 5:00 pm (Local Time).
