Islã Makhachev is a Russian professional mixed martial artist and former Sambo competitor born on September 27th, 1991, who currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Makhachev was the combat sambo world champion at 74 kilograms in 2016.
He grew up with Khabib Nurmagomedov and still trains with him to this day.
