Another MLS weekend brought some surprises, with Inter Miami reclaiming the top spot in both the conference and the league.
With Lionel Messi back in action, the Florida side defeated Philadelphia Union 2-1, knocking them off the top of the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, in the West, Vancouver held onto the lead despite a goalless draw against Toronto in the Canadian derby.
San Diego continues to prove its high aspirations in its debut season, securing a win over Los Angeles FC, while reigning champions LA Galaxy remain in poor form, suffering a 1-2 defeat against Orlando City.

The match between Canada’s two biggest teams ended in a 0-0 draw. It started dull but had an intense final few minutes with chances on both sides.
Toronto FC, now with Lorenzo Insigne back, remains winless and sits second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with just two points—the same as the bottom team, fellow Canadian side Montréal.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver Whitecaps lead the Western Conference with 13 points after four wins, one draw, and one loss.

The Colorado Rapids climbed to fifth place in the Western Conference and turned their goal difference positive after a 2-0 victory over Charlotte FC.
The standout player was American midfielder Djordje Mihailovic, who scored both goals. The first came in the 77th minute with a first-time right-footed strike following a cross from the left by Omir Fernández. The second was a penalty in the 81st minute after a foul on Rafael Navarro.
Both teams now sit in fifth place in their respective conferences, with Colorado at 11 points and Charlotte at 10.

With Lionel Messi back, Inter Miami defeated Philadelphia Union 2-1, reclaiming the top spot in the Eastern Conference and the MLS. The victory brought them to 13 points, surpassing their opponent by one.
Robert Taylor opened the scoring board in the 22nd minute after a brilliant team play. Jordi Alba sent a cross to Benjamín Cremaschi, who set up Taylor for an easy finish.
In the second half, Messi came on in the 55th minute, and just two minutes later, Luis Suárez assisted the Argentine, who cut inside past his defender and finished with a right-footed shot to score for the fourth consecutive match.
Philadelphia pulled one back in the 80th minute with a powerful strike from Dániel Gazdag inside the box, but it wasn’t enough. The Florida side secured the win and remained unbeaten with four victories and one draw.

In one of California’s newest derbies, San Diego proved it was no fluke, defeating Los Angeles FC 3-2 to climb the ranks in the Western Conference.
Five goals were scored, all coming in the first half, as Mikey Varas’ team raced to a 3-0 lead by the 40th minute.
Christopher McVey opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a header. Onni Valakari capitalized on a mistake by Hugo Lloris to tap in the second goal in the 33rd minute, and Alex Mighten finished off a pass from Valakari to make it 3-0.
LAFC pulled one back in the 43rd minute with a stunning long-range strike from Artem Smoliakov that hit the post before going in. Turkish forward Cengiz Ünder opened his MLS goal count, converting a pass from Marky Delgado.
The match took a turn in the 53rd minute when midfielder Igor Jesus was shown a red card, preventing LAFC from completing the comeback.
San Diego now sits third in the conference with 11 points, just two behind Vancouver, while LAFC is eighth with nine points.
