Matchday 7 of the Clausura 2025 in Liga MX saw Pachuca secure a victory over Pumas on Sunday, February 16. Despite some setbacks, Pachuca has had a strong tournament and currently sits in fourth place with 13 points, while Pumas, under the leadership of Gustavo Lerma, sits in ninth place with 11 points.
Pachuca, coached by Guillermo Almada, dominated the match from the start, with the opening goal scored by John Kennedy Batista in the 16th minute and a second goal in first-half stoppage time. Despite a more focused and motivated second half, Pumas only managed to score one goal off the foot of Ignacio Pussetto.

In an intense match in which James Rodríguez provided two crucial assists, León secured its sixth win of the season by scoring a late goal against Atlético San Luis, winning 2-1.
Despite not playing his best game, Rodriguez proved decisive at key moments. The win propels Eduardo Berizzo’s team to the top of the Torneo Clausura 2025 standings with 17 points, making them the only undefeated team in the competition.
