In the blink of an eye, the 2023/24 NBA season reached its sixth week, and with that, we have teams already finishing up getting into shape for the rest of the season.
We have enjoyed some great quality play from the Celtics, Magic, Bucks, and 76ers in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, as just 1.5 games separate them. Meanwhile, in the West, the Timberwolves dominate the conference with a 1.0 game lead over the surprising Thunders, who have started the season with an excellent pace of play.
We also have the ever-present Phoenix Suns and the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets, who are 1.5 games out of first place. That is not to say that the rest of the teams are playing poorly; quite the contrary. We are looking at one of the best starts to an NBA season in recent years.
Below are previews of the best games at the beginning of Week 6 of the 2023/24 NBA season.

The NBA game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers is arguably the most intriguing of all the games scheduled for the start of Week 6.
The 76ers are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and are in contention for that top spot currently held by the Celtics. Last Saturday, the Philadelphia 76ers traveled to the Oklahoma City Thunder and won 127-123 in a spectacular game. Thanks to this victory, they ended a brief streak of two consecutive losses. They remain in the race to lead the Eastern Conference with 11 wins and 5 losses.
The Philadelphia 76ers are a ferocious, athletic team that plays right up to the opposing hoop. As such, they expect to take advantage of home-court advantage and finish with 110-120 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers, on the other hand, will try to take a shot at this game against the 76ers to win their second game in a row and move closer to the top of the standings in the West. Last Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-115. In their last 5 NBA games, they have had 4 wins and 1 loss and have been raising their level of performance both individually and as a team. Their goal is to keep fighting for a spot in the upcoming playoffs, with 10 wins and 7 losses in the Western Conference.
For this game, we expect the home quintet to step up and take the win. That’s why our winner’s chip is on the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Indiana Pacers have started this season in a promising way considering their performance in the last years, as after 15 games, they have a record of 9 wins and 6 losses. However, with how tight the standings are in the Eastern Conference, they are only 3.0 games out of first place. As a result, this team can stay on the winning track and climb to the top of the standings.
The Pacers played the Pistons last Saturday and ended with a 136-113 home win. They
Portland, meanwhile, is one of the teams in the Western Conference that has not found a way to perform well at the beginning of the season. After 16 games played, they have a terrible record of 4 wins and 12 losses. As a result, Portland currently sits at #13 in the West and is 8.0 games out of first place.

The Detroit Pistons enter this NBA Week 6 as one of the worst teams in the tournament, having won just 2 of their 16 games. In addition, the team is immersed in a terrible streak of 13 consecutive games lost, which has them catapulted into the ditch of the NBA Eastern Conference.
Having a start as bad as the Pistons’ makes us think that this team would have to do a 180° turnaround if they don’t want their chances of fighting for a postseason berth to fade away so early in the season. In addition, they are coming off a 113-136 annihilation by the Pacers.
On the other hand, we have the Washington Wizards, another team struggling to get out of the East standings ditch because, just like the Pistons, they have only managed to win 2 out of 14 games.
There is no doubt that this team needs to wake up as soon as possible if they want to keep their hopes of being a competitive team alive this season. However, this start to the season will be tough for them to improve.
We are facing two of the worst teams in the NBA at the beginning of the season. However, we are siding with the Pistons this time, as their offense has been playing a little better in the last few days.
