Resumo da 9ª jornada da MLS

Columbus Crew x FC Cincinnati

The MLS season continues to get more exciting as matchdays go by. The Eastern Conference remains tight when it comes to the teams at the top and how they have been trying to take over.

When it comes to the Western Conference, Vancouver keeps a 4-point lead, but right after that, the rest of the teams are battling for spots, keeping things at a 4-point difference between the second and 12th place.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are on an amazing six wins, two draws, and one loss run. On the other hand, the Eastern leaders, Charlotte, sit at six wins, one draw, and two losses.

Cincinnati is right there with Charlotte, so things are really contested on one side of the board. Now, it is time to break down the results of some of the matches we had during the recent matchday to see where we are going moving forward.

Resumo da 9ª rodada da MLS: Columbus Crew x Inter Miami

Columbus Crew 2.14 Inter Miami 2.945Draw Offs: 4.04

This was an interesting clash because both teams had entered the field as the only undefeated squads in the MLS regular season, but now, only one remains with that title.

The Crew finally went through their first loss of the MLS regular season, falling 1-0 against Inter Miami, as the lone goal came in the 30th minute off a header from Miami midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi.

Miami controlled the offense in the first half, but the Crew had 11 second-half shot attempts that they failed to connect on, while Miami was held to one second-half shot.

Even with the lack of offense in the second half, Inter Miami remains undefeated.

Resumo da 9ª rodada da MLS: Chicago Fire vs. Cincinnati

Chicago Fire 2.256 Cincinnati 2.89 Draw Offs: 3.78

It was a good night for FC Cincinnati, as they rode on the back of Evander’s brace to extend their winning streak to four matches.

The Fire, however, are now four matches removed from their last victory, as Evander opened the scoring early in the ninth minute.

The match was quite contested, making it a delight for the fans to watch, even with the yellow cards and injuries. However, Cincinnati continues to rack up on points while Chicago falls behind.

Resumo da 9ª rodada da MLS: Minnesota vs. FC Dallas

Minnesota 1.65FC Dallas 4.62 Draw Offs: 4.32

This might have been a fairly uneventful match, with the score going 0-0, but it was a victory for Dallas, as the team remains unbeaten on the road this season.

Only Miami, Columbus, and Vancouver remain unbeaten away from home across MLS. Dallas collected nine points during the first five games on the road, marking the fourth-best start in the club’s history.

Other than that, we can’t say much for our hosts, Minnesota, who are splitting their career run between four wins and four losses (along with the single loss).

Resumo da 9ª rodada da MLS: Portland Timbers vs. LAFC

Portland Timbers 2.363 LAFC 2.711Draw Offs: 3.835

After leading 3-2 in the 90th minute, the Timbers conceded a penalty kick goal to Denis Bouanga that turned a would-be win into a frustrating draw.

The Timbers led the match with two goals from Felipe Mora and Santiago Moreno’s first of the season, putting the game in Portland’s control.

Things were getting ugly, but after Bouanga had a pair of goals disallowed in the first 10 minutes of the match for offside, the LAFC striker made sure he didn’t miss when the opportunity presented itself with the game on the line.
