The 15th matchday of the Liga MX has just wrapped up, and only two matchdays remains before the regular season of the Clausura MX wraps up.
We couldn’t be more eager to look back on what went down during this last week and how the results shook things up on the board.

Clausura MX Matchday 15 Roundup: Necaxa x Pachuca
Necaxa 2.5 | Pachuca 2.52 | Empates: 3,74 |
This clash was action-packed, as both teams were eager to go and battle for the three points.
The star of the match was Salomón Rondon with a hat trick (31′, 45+1′ and 90’+4′), scoring 3 for Pachuca, with Elías Montiel (85′) and Arturo González (88′) getting the other two that put the team on top.
On Necaxa’s side, the team made decent results on the scoreboard and got good moments overall with goals from Pavel Pérez (32′ and 79′) and Diego de Buen (53′).
Clausura MX Matchday 15 Roundup: León x Puebla
Leon 1.65 | Puebla 4.91 | Draw Offs: 3.98 |
As usual, James Rodriguez was the center of attention for the Leon team. He didn’t perform as well as in previous matches. However, he gave his all and applied pressure on the opposing team.
James always tried to find Cádiz with long passes, but this time, the Venezuelan striker misread the captain’s passes. The number 10 was putting pressure with crosses mostly headed by Barreiro, creating danger in the opponent’s goal.
Ricardo Marín had the most evident chance for Puebla when the game was still tied, but in the one-on-one, goalkeeper Blanco excelled with a tremendous save.
Even though he put pressure for the longest time, James was later substituted after 90 minutes of regulation time, making no difference, as León had already secured the win thanks to a goal from Andrés Guardado in the 59th minute.
Clausura MX Matchday 15 Roundup: Atlas x Toluca
Atlas 3.83 | Toluca 1.85 | Draw Offs: 3.85 |
Three goals from Paulinho gave Toluca a 3-2 victory over Atlas, taking the lead in scoring with 12 goals, an incredible performance in a high-activity match.
When it comes to the hosts, we have to point out that the Zorros’ hopes for the final phase are practically over. Even though they still have the Clásico Tapatío ahead, there’s no chance to climb up on the board.
Paulinho came in for the winning goal in the 78th minute, leaving him alone in the race with 12 goals and a two-goal lead over Djuka.
Clausura MX Matchday 15 Roundup: Club América vs. Cruz Azul
Club America 2.06 | Cruz Azul 3.47 | Draw Offs: 3.48 |
Club America and Cruz Azul kicked off on equal footing, and that parity defined the match from start to finish. In their third meeting in recent weeks, the result mirrored their first encounter—Cruz Azul once again unable to find the back of the net at the Estadio Azteca.
Despite showing solidity in defense, the visitors failed to convert on offense, continuing a troubling trend when playing away to America.
Now sitting second in the Liga MX standings, Cruz Azul missed an opportunity to pull ahead, leaving the door open for Toluca to claim the top spot.
