UFC Fight Night Round-Up– Luque vs. Muhammad 2 – Review and Fight Analysis

UFC Fight Night: Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad

Our Pick: Vicente Luque

Outcome: Belal Muhammad scores his revenge after defeating Vicente Luque.

Belal Muhammad was entirely in control of the fight excluding a third round in which he was repeatedly stumbled by Luque.

Muhammad flummoxed his opponent with constant side-to-side movement along the fence line, making it difficult for Luque to get a rhythm or land straight punches.

Muhammad also utilized whipping body kicks to score points from a distance and landed takedowns once Luque was caught up with striking exchanges.

UFC Fight Night: Caio Borralho vs. Gadzhi Omargadzhiev

Our Pick: Gadzhi Omargadzhiev

Outcome: Caio Borralho wins technical decision after Gadzhi Omargadzhiev is unable to continue following an illegal strike.

While the Brazilian newcomer was dominating the fight, he threw a knee late in the third round with opponent Gadzhi Omargadzhiev’s hand still on the canvas, which means he was considered a downed opponent.

The knee blasted Omargadzhiev with referee Dan Miragliotta rushing in to call the foul, which led to him taking a point away from Borralho.

When Omargadzhiev was unable to continue, the fight was stopped but Miragliotta then called Borralho’s strike an “accidental foul,” which put the decision in the hands of the judges.

All three officials scored the fight 29-27 with Borralho getting the nod by technical decision.

UFC Fight Night: Andre Fialho vs. Miguel Baeza

Our Pick: Miguel Baeza

Outcome: Andre Fialho blasts Miguel Baeza with uppercuts leading to a brutal first-round KO.

Andre Fialho made quite an impression in his second octagon appearance with a devastating knockout over Miguel Baeza.

The win didn’t come easy as Fialho had to survive an early onslaught before staging a comeback that saw him blast Baeza with a series of uppercuts that turned the tide.

Once Baeza was stunned, Fialho rushed forward with a perfectly timed left hook that put the 29-year-old welterweight down on the canvas, with the fight stopped just a split second later.

UFC Fight Night: Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Yanan Wu

Our Pick: Mayra Bueno Silva

Outcome: Mayra Bueno Silva picks up a unanimous decision win over Wu Yanan in the move up to bantamweight.

With fast hands and powerful punches at her disposal, Silva was consistently landing the better shots all night long with Wu missing far more than she was hitting over three rounds.

When the fight ended, the judges scored the fight 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27 with Silva getting the nod and her first win since September 2020.

UFC Fight Night: Pat Sabatini vs. T.J. Laramie

Our Pick: Pat Sabatini

Outcome: Pat Sabatini punishes T.J. Laramie on the ground to win a lopsided decision.

A near knockout early didn’t sway Pat Sabatini from his chosen game plan to put T.J. Laramie on the ground and maul him throughout three rounds.

A body shot in the first round had Laramie hurt but Sabatini couldn’t quite put him away despite his best efforts.

Still, Sabatini never slowed down through all 15 minutes as he kept hammering away at Laramie; especially with a suffocating ground game to ultimately win a lopsided decision.

UFC Fight Night: Mounir Lazzez vs. Ange Loosa

Our Pick: Mounir Lazzez

Outcome: Mounir Lazzez dominates standing as he closes Ange Loosa’s strike for a decision win.

Monir Lazzez impresses the crowd with his versatile punch. All while dominating Angel Losa during their 3-round bout to secure a unanimous decision victory on the UFC Vegas 51.
