This Saturday, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host UFC Fight Night: 264 – Poirier vs. McGregor. We’ll see a spectacular battle between the always controversial Irishman Connor McGregor and the American Dustin Poirier. To understand the context of what this fight means for these two fighters, we have to say that this would be the end of a trilogy of fights. McGregor took the victory in the first fight by TKO in 2014 Poirier in January this year by unanimous decision.

The fight between Poirier and McGregor will be played this Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

How do Poirier and McGregor get to this fight?

As many media have called it, this excellent trilogy will end with an exhilarating fight in which two of the best fighters in the world of MMA and UFC meet this Saturday.

Dustin Poirier comes into this fight with an excellent record of 26 wins, 6 losses, and 1 no-decision. His outstanding record has classified him as one of the best MMA fighters in his category. Poirier has won 4 of his last 5 fights and, the previous victory was, coincidentally, against Connor McGregor, at the UFC Fight Night event: 257.

On the other hand, we have the always controversial and excellent fighter, the Irishman Connor McGregor. The Irishman has 22 wins and 5 losses in his entire professional career within the UFC. However, of his last 6 matches, McGregor has lost in 3 of them, so it seems that age is playing its part in McGregor’s career.

Connor McGregor is coming off his last fight by unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier in January of this year, so this would be his rematch.
