Marina Rodriguez is a Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, who was born in Bagé, in the Rio Grande do Sul province, Brazil, on April 29, 1989. She is one more of many excellent Brazilian MMA fighters. Currently, she competes in the strawweight category in the UFC. According to the world rankings updated on August 9, 2021, Rodriguez is #6 in her category.
Rodriguez’s youth was always linked to sports, so much so that she played soccer, volleyball, handball, and basketball. In the same way, she was a young studious woman who, after graduating as a graphic designer, began to practice Muay Thai, as a method to lose weight.
In 2015, Rodriguez made her debut in MMA, where she managed to obtain a 9-0 record. Mainly, in events played in Brazilian territory. As a consequence, in 2018, she competed in the Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil 2, where she achieved victory against Maria de Oliveira Neta, by knockout and this opened the doors to the world of the UFC.
On September 22, 2018, Rodriguez made her UFC debut at the UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Anders, where she got a draw against Randa Markos.

On February 24, 2017, at the Curitiba Top Fight 10 event, Marina Rodriguez faced Paula Vieira da Silva. In this fight Rodriguez started with an impressive pace, landing most of her punches in the face of her rival and, in the 4:50 minute of the first round, Rodriguez sent da Silva to the canvas after a combination of punches to the face.
