We are currently on the Matchday two out of three for the UEFA Euro 2024 group stage, and the teams are looking to get the best results as quickly as possible.

It wasn’t a surprise to see the teams that won on the first matchday, as Germany, Spain, England, Italy, and France were some of the names expected to make it into the next round, but things are bound to get more interesting on each matchday now. There will be three matches that will pit both winners of a group, and we are eager to see those go down, as they place top-level teams on both sides of the field, which not only makes the tournament more interesting but also showcases some high-level matches, which are a treat for all soccer fans.

Christian Eriksen marked his return to the continental stage in heartwarming fashion as he netted the opening goal in Sunday’s Group C encounter with Slovenia.

Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand admitted after the match that his side was “too passive” and lacked intensity in the closing stages, and he has encouraged his players to maintain their high energy levels for the entire 90 minutes. That isif they wish to claim three precious points from at least one of their remaining two group fixtures.

Following a memorable debut season at Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham inspired England to an important 1-0 victory over Serbia in their opening Group C match on Sunday, ensuring the Three Lions’ quest to banish the demons of Euro 2020 began positively.

England have not tasted defeat at the group stage since their Euro 2004 opener against France, recording eight wins and four draws since then. Three of the last four meetings between Denmark and England have seen no more than one goal scored, and another tight affair could be on the cards considering the stakes are already high at this early stage in the tournament.

Denmark cannot be written off in Frankfurt and have the attacking players at their disposal to cause England one or two problems. However, if the Three Lions can defend with the same resilience that got them over the line versus Serbia and Southgate gets his final third stars to click, they should find a way to claim another narrow victory.

When Spain coach Luis de la Fuente sent his side out at Berlin’s Olympiastadion for their Euro 2024 opener, he could scarcely have dreamed they would return at halftime with a three-goal lead over Croatia.

European champions in 1964, 2008, and 2012, Spain’s hopes of adding a fourth continental crown to their collection are high, as they have now lost just one of 11 competitive games under De la Fuente, winning each of the last seven.

While their Iberian counterparts have held the upper hand lately, Italy memorably overcame Spain on penalties three years ago, en route to Euro 2020 glory. Since losing to La Roja in the Nations League last June, the new-look Azzurri have been beaten in only one of their next 12 matches, winning eight, and Luciano Spalletti has brought renewed vigor to a squad that had started to falter under Roberto Mancini.

Now meeting for the fifth straight Euros, these nations have been familiar foes in the Nations League, and Spain’s success over the Azzurri could continue. A more diverse attacking approach paid dividends against Croatia, whileItaly’s defense remains a little dubious, so it may be La Roja celebrating safe passage to the last 16.

Leading the way over France courtesy of their superior goals-scored tally, the Netherlands could guarantee themselves a top-two finish by winning Friday’s match. It would also represent their fourth straight victory after 4-0 friendly thrashings of Canada and Iceland in their warm-up fixtures.

Before being quickly reunited with their Dutch foes in the same finals section, France eased to a 4-0 battering of the Oranje at home and also scraped a 2-1 victory in the preliminary section, leaving Didier Deschamps’s men with history firmly on their side this week.

As Mbappe’s lightning burst of pace was critical to France picking the Austrian lock, his expected absence robs Les Bleus of their X-factor for Friday’s tie, where defenses could come out on top.

The Netherlands may have been in a free-scoring mode for most of the past year, but Deschamps’s defense is one of the toughest nuts to crack right now, and this blockbuster may very well end on a goalless draw here.

UEFA Euro 2024 Matchday 2: Türkiye vs. Portugal

We have to point out that Türkiye made a flying start to their EURO 2024 campaign, with the team beating Georgia 3-1, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. in their second clash.

Fenerbahce forward Irfan Kahveci is out with heart problems, while there are no fresh injury concerns in Vincenzo Montella’s team. As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Inter midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu.

The Seleção, on the other hand, survived the Czech Republic in their opener, with Francisco Conceição scoring the winner in the stoppage time. Speaking of the nominal visitors, Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota is pushing for a start, while both Rafael Leao and aforementioned Porto rising star Conceicao are one yellow card away from suspension.

With both Portugal and Türkiye having a good start and bringing good momentum, things should be quite entertaining here, but we are expecting the Asians to fall off against the level of a strong Iberic team here.
