Why Bet on the Netherlands?

The Netherlands was not one of the great favorites at the beginning of the tournament, but they have been overcoming the different obstacles in their way, and they are already in the semifinals. However, it is also true that, in these last rounds, the opponents were not the toughest.

In the group stage, they beat Poland (2-1), drew with France (0-0), and lost to Austria (2-3). Then, in the round of 16, they crushed Romania (3-0), and in their last match, they struggled to defeat Turkey 2-1.

The Clockwork Orange started off trailing with a header by Samet Akaydin after a corner kick in the 35th minute, but in the 70’ Stefan de Vrij equalized in the same way, and in the 76’ Mert Müldür pushed the ball into his net when he tried to avoid Cody Gakpo’s shot. Towards the end of the game, goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made some great saves to prevent the equalizer and give his country the qualification.

Ronald Koeman’s team has to improve a lot, especially in defense. In three of the five matches played in the tournament, they have started behind on the scoreboard. The other two were a goalless draw and a convincing 3-0 victory against a weak Romania, which also troubled them at the beginning.

Up front, they have had important players, such as Cody Gakpo, one of the scorers of the championship with three goals and an assist, and forcing their own goal that gave them a place in the semifinals. However, others like Memphis Depay and Xavi Simons have had a lot of sacrifices, but a little more is asked of them.

Why Bet on England?

England is the favorite in the betting, but not in their soccer. The English struggled to draw with Switzerland (1-1) and advance on penalties.

Breel Embolo gave the Swiss the lead after a cross from the right by Dan Ndoye, but in the 80th minute, Bukayo Saka scored a mid-range shot to equalize the game. Then, in the penalty shootout, Jordan Pickford saved the first penalty kick from Manuel Akanji, who would be the only one who did not score, and the English advanced to the next round.

Despite having great players, a goal scorer like Harry Kane, a Jude Bellingham in a state of grace, and being in the semifinals, England has been in debt with their game. They beat Serbia 1-0 in the first match, drew 1-1 with Denmark and 0-0 with Slovenia, and beat Slovakia 2-1 in extra time after equalizing in the 90+5th minute.

Gareth Southgate’s team has advanced with the minimum, without going over any opponent, but the remaining opponents in the Euro 2024 are already heavy and historical countries, so they will have to work harder if they want to reach the final. Among the good news is the return of defender Marc Guéhi, who was suspended and had played as many minutes as possible.

Final Betting Analysis: Netherlands vs. England

The last time they met was in the 2019 UEFA Nations League semifinals, and it was a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, and then the Netherlands won 3-1 in extra time. On the other hand, the last time they met in a UEFA Euro was in 1996, and the English won 4-1 with braces from Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham. That day, Gareth Southgate started for England.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have England as the favorite. Their Moneyline shows 2.65, the Netherlands has 3.32, and the draw is at 2.96.

Great match, the first test of fire for both teams since both must be champions, so we will be able to measure what they are made for. It will be a very even duel, so much so that it will be tied, and in the penalty shootout, the British will succeed.

Go for a draw. If you bet $100 at 2.96, you will gain $196 for a total payout of $296.
