Dortmund vs. PSG: Champions League Semifinals Preview

Dortmund

After the first leg of the quarterfinals, no one would’ve believed this would be the match-up for the semifinals of the Champions League.

Dortmund entered the second leg of the quarters on a 1-2 score in favor of Atletico Madrid but then turned things down to a 5-4 global score with an incredible performance at Signal Iduna Park.

PSG had a similar story, entering the 2nd leg down in the aggregate after a 2-3 score in favor of Barcelona. However, the French team went all in on Montjuïc, beating the Spanish team to a pulp with a 1- 4 score that gave them a pass into the Semifinals.

Now, both teams are looking towards their upcoming clash to make their case as the team that deserves to go to the finals, and we believe that no matter what happens, this will be a victory for the fans, as none of the contenders will slow down.

Why Bet on Dortmund?

It’s time for the Germans to prepare for celebrations, as Borussia Dortmund have progressed to their first Champions League semifinals since reaching the showpiece event under Jurgen Klopp in 2012-13. The team’s dramatic victory over the Colchoneros in the previous stage came after a comfortable Round of 16 series with PSV.

However, Borussia’s biggest achievement this season came in the group stage, where they overcame, precisely,PSG to advance as the first seed.

The German team has done a great job of clearing their minds midweek to navigate in the tricky waters of Europe, as in the Bundesliga, the history is different. The team is in fifth place, and after getting steamrolled by Leipzig the past weekend, they have almost null chances of finishing inside the top four. Their chances of playing the next Champions League rely on this edition of the competition.

Why Bet on PSG?

PSG are getting one step closer to winning their first-ever Champions League trophy after beating five-time winners Barcelona 6-4 on aggregate. The action-packed series was marked by Ronald Araujo’s expulsion in the first half at Montjuïc, as, until that moment, the Catalans were arguably better.

However, none of that matters, as they are finally in a definitive stage after some disappointing seasons getting out in the Round of 16. As we said in our Champions League preview months ago, the departures of Messi and Neymar would take the team out of the spotlight, which could benefit their performance, and that has been the case.

Enrique’s men are understandably in high spirits, as the team comes with confidence due to their unbeaten run in their last 15 away games in all competitions. They were also crowned early champions of the Ligue One, although that’s not a rare occurrence.

Final Betting Analysis: Dortmund vs. PSG

BVB have only won one of their previous six meetings with PSG. However, their home record bodes well ahead of Wednesday’s contest as they have not lost any of their last ten Champions League matches at Signal Iduna Park.

When we put PSG’s 15 straight wins on the road against that, we get a pretty tight match between these two teams, and we all should get to enjoy the most out of this high-level contest.

We believe this first leg will give none of the teams a clear advantage going into the second, but it’d be a nice match for all fans to enjoy. We expect a 2-2 score.

Go for a draw. If you bet $100 at 3.92, you’ll get $292 for a total payout of $392.
