Jacks Surfboards Pro 2021 Surf LATAM Contenders

This weekend we will have a lot of excellent surfers in the world in action at Jack’s Surfboards PRO, a 1500-point event that will give those who occupy the first places the possibility of belonging to or qualifying for the World Surfing League.

This will be the last event, meaning the last chance for the WSL QS qualifiers, both male and female, to earn their spot to participate in the WSL. A total of 10 men and 8 women will have the privilege of qualifying.

The event will be held from August 5 to 8, 2021 at the Huntington Beach Pier, in California.

Top 2 Men’s

  • Noe Mar Mcgonagle

Noe Mar Mcgonagle is a 25-year-old Costa Rican surfer who is ranked 16th in the North American ranking published by the World Surf League.

Since the beginning of her as a professional in the Men’s Qualifying Series, in 2011, Noe Mar has not managed to stay with first place in any of the many events that she has participated in, but, if she has achieved important second and third places.

  • Alan Cleland

The talented young Mexican Alan Cleland is a surfer with excellent qualities who was born and raised in Colima, and it is said that he grew as the waves grow, powerful and tubes. In his DNA he has surfer blood thanks to the sporting heritage of his father, an excellent surfer as well.

In his 5th year as a professional, he has played many events throughout the world, and, without a doubt, his best result was obtained at the Vans Surf Open Acapulco where he was defeated by Matheus Navarro and finished in third place.

  • Leilani Mcgonagle

Noe Mar’s young Costa Rican surfer sister, Leilani Mcgonagle, was born on November 14, 1999, and began surfing when she was 5 years old, where she came to fully master the discipline, instilled by her parents and her successful brother.

Leilani began her participation in the World Surf League in 2013 and, one of the most important achievements that she has in her showcase was the qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where she was eliminated after her first two participation in which she obtained scores of 9,63.

  • Shelby Detmers

This 27-year-old Mexican surfer, Shelby Detmers has had a discreet career in the World Surf League. Currently, she is ranked number 12 in the North American ranking, published by the World Surf League.

Although his performances throughout history in his 11-year career as a professional have not been very good at all, he seems to have found a formula that allows him to be among the best, and that is, in 2020 in his two events disputed, he obtained the 5th place, so, if he continues this trend, he could obtain very good results in this Jack’s Surfboards Pro.
