The 2021 season of the World Surf League is ending; with it, the last events of the year are about to begin. One of them, the HIC Pipe Pro Qualifying Series (QS), will give a total of 1000 points for the world championship. This event will take place December 8-20, 2021 on the beautiful beaches of Banzai Pipeline, Oahu, Hawaii.

Some of the best surfers in the world (men and women) will meet in the heavy waves of Pipeline; as well as many regional surfers who want to show their quality against the best in the world.

It is the first that female surfers will meet in Pipeline in the Qualifying Series since 2018.

Top 2 Men’s

  • Leo Casal

The Brazilian surfer Leo Casal was born in the city of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, and made his professional debut in the world of surfing in 2017 in the Men’s JUN category. Casal is currently #98 in the 2020 Men’s QS.

Leo Casal has not had the good year 2021, but, in the same way, he managed to obtain third place in the Corona Salinas Open presented by Hyundai New Tucson 2022, in which João Chianca defeated him.

  • Ryan Kainalo

On the other hand, another Brazilian surfer who also made his debut in the Men’s JUN category in 2017, Ryan Kainalo, was born in Ubatuba, Brazil, on February 16, 2016. Kainalo is #337 in the QS world rankings.

Ryan’s year 2021 has been normal, he managed to obtain third place in the Azores Airlines Pro and fifth place in the Corona Salinas Open presented by Hyundai New Tucson 2022.

Top 2 Women’s

  • Brisa Hennessy

We all know the quality of the Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy, which is ranked # 15 in the CT in 2021. Despite this, Hennessy has not managed to have a good 2021 season, since it has not managed to surpass ninth place in any of the competitions that he has participated in. As for the Women’s QS, the only event that has participated in this 2021 is in the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro where it was ranked 17.

On the other hand, the best surfer in the world, Carissa Moore comes to this HIC Pipe Pro with the firm conviction of proving that all the excellent results she has obtained in this year 2021 are no coincidence. Moore has managed to obtain first place in the following events in this year 2021 Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by CoronaRip Curl WSL Finals and, second place in the following events Maui Pro presented by ROXY at Pipeline, Jeep Surf Ranch Pro presented by Adobe.
