The emotions of the World Surf League Qualifying Series return to the Azores. This place, since 2009, has been one of the iconic stops on the European tour.
The Azores Airlines Pro 2021 will be held from November 1 to 6, 2021, in the Azores. This is one of the nine Portuguese islands that lie in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Qualifying Series of Europe in the 2021-22 season was announced to start in August and to end in April 2022. The first tournament was, in theory, the Rip Curl Pro Anglet. However, the event could not take place as expected; so this Azores Airlines Pro is expected to be the main event.
As we all know, the Qualifying Series is the annual tournament where all surfers fight in their respective regions to compete for a place in the Challenger Series. Then, seek an opportunity to participate in the highest category of world surfing, the Championship Tour.
With the quotas already completed, we will have a total of 112 men and 56 women, from experience to young, in the fight to obtain the most points that will help them to be at the top of the leaderboard from the beginning of the season.

- Joan Duru
Joan Duru is one of the European surfers who has had the best performance in the tournaments of the 2010s. His explosive movements, aerial tricks, and his excellent movements on the wave have classified him as one of the best.
Joan Duru has played a regular 2021 year, where he has achieved a total of 2108 points. At the time, his best participation was in the ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro where he got second place.

- Pauline Ado
The also French Pauline Ado who, strangely, is from a family where there are no other surfers, has been one of the most decorated European surfers since her debut in 2008 in the women’s QS. Throughout her career, her dream has always been to surf against the best in the world and, after a long wait; she managed to start this dream after qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Pauline has played the very good year 2021; has managed to obtain fifth place in two important competitions, the Estrella Galicia Caparica Surf Fest and ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro.
