Arsenal returned to good football and retained the lead, while Manchester United snatched fifth place from Chelsea.

Arsenal never got more than one goal in any of its last five matches, and they came to this game after falling for the first time in the Europa League. Manchester City and Leicester gave a close game to their fans this early Saturday, which wasn’t very entertaining but left interesting results in the tactical analysis. The Foxes managed to neutralize City who only had 5 shots on target in the game. However, if there is someone in the world capable of breaking a strong defense, is Kevin Debruyne. The best midfielder in the world resolved the game with a single free kick.

City has been having problems in the creation of plays in the last games as its rivals are resorting to a high-pressure, close defense approach. The tiredness in the team is palpable in the lack of ideas to construct from the back, so it should be predictable to see them use the long ball more.

Tottenham came to this game after a couple of damaging results and the team mentality was clearly out of place. The team from the south coast managed to be 2-0 up at one moment but Sessegnon, Davies, and Bentancur achieved an impressive comeback.

Tottenham’s problems are not only in defense. Harry Kane has been his usual goal-scoring self, but Son Heung-Min is having a serious sting of irregularity as he is unplayable in one game, and completely disappears in the other. With Kulusevsky and Richarlyson Injured, the Spurs don’t have enough rotation options to give a rest to the Korean start.

Either way, the set-pieces were the main weapons for Tottenham in this match (an Antonio Conte classic), and they are still a dangerous but unstable team.

Newcastle is a machine in the hands of Eddie Howe and the English manager has acomplished a very good structure with the revival of players discarded by the press and fans like Almiron and Joelington.
