NFL Week 3 – Roundup and Results

NFL Week 3

We have already enjoyed 3 weeks of the 2022 NFL season, and we have encountered all kinds of surprises, some very pleasant while others not so much, where all teams are still trying to identify which path will take them on the road to victory in this complicated start of the season.

While week 1 of the season left us with many surprises and made us think that many other teams would be included in the fight for the playoffs, week 3 was quite the opposite, with the favorite teams of the season falling defeated and leaving much to be desired in terms of their level of play.

Week 3 started last Thursday when the Browns crushed the Steelers, where the team from Ohio shined throughout the game and had a more than positive result. With this result, the Steelers’ illusions are not going very well, although this game was marked by George Pickens’ spectacular catch, it was not enough for the team to win.

Others who are also having a hard time are the New England Patriots who, in addition to their loss to the Ravens, will have to make do in week 4 without Mac Jones, who was out with a sore left ankle in the last game.

While only 2 teams have managed to remain undefeated during these 3 weeks of competition, the Philadelphia Eagles who crushed Washington 24-8, and the Miami Dolphins who continue to surprise and this time defeated the Buffalo Bills in a very tight game, with a score of 21-19.

NFL Week 3 – Roundup – Dolphins vs. Bills

When: Sunday, September 25 at 11:00 am ET

Moneyline odds: Dolphins +166 / Bills -206 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

The Dolphins stormed into first place in the AFC East despite the Bills’ best efforts to stop Miami’s offense. But in just six plays run, the Dolphins have shown how explosive offensive action can quickly affect the outcomes of games.

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins offense were barely on the field this Sunday. But Miami’s defense prevented another explosive win by Josh Allen and the Bills to snap their winning streak.

Miami had failed to beat Buffalo in seven meetings, but the Dolphins are now 3-0 for the first time since 2018 and are one of three undefeated teams in the NFL.

The Dolphins survived two plays by Allen and his offense at the end and withstood Buffalo’s long drives throughout the game. They missed several opportunities to intercept Allen as he drove the Bills forward and left them close to the go-ahead touchdown but made up for it by holding on fourth and goal and Buffalo’s next play to seal the win.

In this game, the Dolphins had their quarterback Tagovailoa with 13 of 18 passes completed for 186 yards and 1 touchdown. Meanwhile, the Bills had an incredible Josh Allen with 42 of 63 passes completed, to accumulate 400 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Result: Dolphins (21) – (19) Bills.

NFL Week 3 – Roundup – Chiefs vs Colts

When: Sunday, September 25 at 11:00 pm ET

Moneyline odds: Colts +228 / Chiefs -294 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

The Indianapolis Colts obtained their first win of the 2022 season by defeating Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs 20-17, taking away their undefeated record in a game that went down to the wire.

Despite a seven-point deficit, the Indianapolis team scored 10 points to turn the score around and win the game; Jelani Woods caught the winning touchdown pass in the final seconds.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense will not always be able to cover all the defensive mistakes their team may make. Mahomes completed 20 of 35 for 262 yards, a touchdown, and an interception late in the game on Sunday.

But, with missed kicks, missed clears and a missed field goal, the Chiefs made too many mistakes for the Colts to reach their first win of the season.

While the Chiefs remain one of the clear favorites to reach the next Super Bowl, they must calm down and avoid making these types of mistakes against teams that, in theory, have a much lower level than they do.

Result: Chiefs (17) – (20) Colts.

NFL Week 3 – Roundup – Giants vs Cowboys

When: Monday, September 26 at 06:15 pm ET

Moneyline odds: Cowboys +110 / Giants -134 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

In a game that went from strength to strength, the Dallas Cowboys were able to add their second victory of the year by defeating the New York Giants 23-16 at MetLife Stadium. The Texans managed to take away the undefeated record of their division rival and now have a 2-1 record.

Receiver CeeDee Lamb stole the spotlight after he made a one-handed catch in the end zone after a short pass from quarterback Cooper Rush, who again had an outstanding performance in his second start of the 2022 season.

Cooper Rush threw for 215 yards, one touchdown pass, and completed 21 passes out of 31 attempts.

For the final quarter, Cooper Rush continued to connect passes with his receivers, but the one with whom he has the best chemistry is with CeeDee Lamb, who scored after catching a one-handed pass in great fashion.

The Cowboy’s defense also made its presence felt by stopping on several occasions the offense of quarterback Daniel Jones, who still can’t win in a Prime-time game.

Daniel Jones threw for 196 yards and had an interception late in the game by Trevon Diggs.

Result: Cowboys (23) – NY Giants (16)
