We start the week with celebrations, as this 4rth of July, the MLB calendar keeps going strong, with teams fighting for their spot at the top of the scoreboard.
With some of the teams trying to get their gears going and a few others just watching comfortably with a strong lead, we expect this week to have some interesting matches for every fan.
We can’t start the week without mentioning that the leaders of the AL East Division; with now a 58-22 record, the NY Yankees, continue to lead the division as they decimate any opposition.
The Yankees get closer to the mark of winning 120 games in the season as each week goes on; and they are making it look more achievable each time.
–
The Houston Astros continue their strong lead in the AL West division; while the Twins are holding a small margin at the front of the AL Central.
The NL divisions are a little bit more contested, but the Mets are doing their best to leap ahead in the NL East division, while the Brewers and Dodgers continue to keep themselves just one step ahead on the NL Central and NL West respectively.
Now, this Monday begins some different series that we are sure will be very electrifying and that will be full of emotions in each of the games

July 4rth MLB Game: Minnesota Twins (+110) vs. Chicago White Sox (-130)
Minnesota got off to a slow start to the season, losing eight of its first 12 games.
The Twins responded with 11 wins in their next 12 contests and have been playing winning baseball since then.
They dropped three out of five at Cleveland last week before taking two out of three against Baltimore over the weekend. Minnesota is now hitting the road for a six-game trip that will conclude on Sunday.
The Twins are sitting atop the AL Central, leading Cleveland by two games in the standings.
They are also 4.5 games ahead of Chicago in one of the tightest races in baseball.
The White Sox, meanwhile, have underperformed every which way.
The AL Central is not a particularly strong division and yet they’re under .500 with a run differential (minus-36) that says they should be worse than they are at .0.
Are they out of it? No, but being in third place is not where the White Sox thought they’d find themselves on the Fourth of July.
Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox Betting Pick: Minnesota Twins
July 4rth MLB Game: Kansas City Royals (+195) vs. Houston Astros (-245)
The favored Astros take the field at home against the Royals.
The matchup on the mound for this contest is set with the Houston Astros looking to Jake Odorizzi, and Jonathan Heasley (1-4) getting the nod for the Kansas City Royals.
The Astros won 4-2 over the Angels in their most recent game.
Ryan Pressly was the winning pitcher after throwing one inning without giving up a hit or an earned run while striking out three, while Jeremy Pena went 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI to lead them offensively.
The Royals knocked off the Tigers 7-4.
Edward Olivares went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, and Jose Cuas got the win, pitching 1/3 of an inning without giving up a hit or an earned run.
Houston’s shortstop has a knack for rising to the occasion, is hitting .412 this postseason, and could be a major star on Wednesday night.
Look for the young Astros lineup to give the struggling Cueto problems early in this one.
While the depth of Young and Medlen is formidable, it doesn’t match up with the possibility of a strong McHugh together with a focused Kazmir.
Houston’s pitching gives the team a slight edge, and that will help the Astros take Game 5.

July 4rth MLB Game: New York Mets (-165) vs. Cincinnati Reds (+140)
The Cincinnati Reds (27-51) welcome the New York Mets (49-30) to Great American Ball Park for the 1st of a 3-game series Monday.
The Reds snapped a 4-game losing streak with a 4-3 win Sunday over the Atlanta Braves to avoid a sweep.
Cincinnati has won 3 of its last 7 after a historically bad start to the season.
The Mets, on the other hand, sit atop the NL East. New York most recently won 2 of 3 against the Rangers at home.
New York will be fired up to get the win not only to make it 50 victories on the season but also in their bid to return to the top of the National League standings after being leapfrogged by the Dodgers.
They have a golden opportunity to do that against a Reds team that has the worst record in the NL.
New York Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds Betting Pick: NY Mets
July 4rth MLB Game: Los Angeles Dodgers (-300) vs. Colorado Rockies (+240)
Last but not least, we will have a re-do from last week’s match-up between LA Dodgers and Colorado Rockies.
The Rockies have won 4 of the last 6 games, including 2 of 3 at Coors Fields against the Dodgers from June 27-29.
They remain in last place in the NL West Division and trail the first-place Dodgers by 15.5 games in the division.
On the mound on Monday will be a pair of left-handers as Kyle Freeland (4-5, 4.31) of the Rockies takes on Julio Urias (6-6, 2.64) of the Dodgers. The first pitch is scheduled for 9:40 at Dodger Stadium.
The Rockies come into this series on a high after winning their second straight series with a 6-5 win over Arizona on Sunday.
The win meant the Rockies have now won two out of three from the Diamondbacks and these same Dodgers at the start of last week.
On Sunday, the Rockies hung on after the Diamondbacks loaded the bases in the 9th before closer Daniel Bard closes out his 16th save with a strikeout.
CJ Cron led the way with 2 3-run home runs to drive in all six runs in the win.
The Rockies now hit the road hoping to take their offense with them.
