The Mexico Open, previously called the Mexican Golf Open, which has been held since 1944, is considered the most traditional Golf tournament in the entire territory of Mexico. For the first time in history, in 2022 the Mexico Open will be part of the PGA Tour calendar as an official FedExCup event. Now 500 FedExCup points will be given to the golfer who wins. The Mexico Open will be from next Thursday, April 28 to Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Vidanta, Vallarta, Mexico. This event will feature the participation of 144 players, where there will be 12 exemptions, with at least four players from Latin America, with the two Mexican champions of the PGA Tour, Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz, the ones who leave with the greatest confidence for playing in their house.
