On Sunday, April 10th, we get the latest installment of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, as one of the staples of the F1 calendar makes its return in the 2022 season.
The Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne has become synonymous with the first race of the Formula 1 season, but in 2022 we’re faced with a very different prospect on the eve of the Albert Park race.
For just the third time in the race’s history, there’s a form guide for Australia.
That’s not to say there won’t still be surprises to be had at Albert Park.
We’re just three rounds into arguably the biggest rules overhaul in F1 history, and the competitive order is sure to chop and change as teams seize the low-hanging fruit of this early development cycle.
The level of unreliability has also surprised, biting frontrunners, midfielders, and backmarkers equally over the first two rounds of the season.
But there’s no doubt two teams will be in contention for victory this weekend. Who wins it is anyone’s guess.
You can check all the F1 bets, for more insight into the races, and the final bet you can make in this Grand Prix.

F1 Australian GP Race Preview and Betting Picks
One of the biggest questions coming into the new season was how Max Verstappen would react to some of the blowbacks that he received after his controversial championship win last season.
There had to have been some concerns after the opening race of the year in Bahrain, with Verstappen failing to finish.
Any doubts that fans might have had were subsequently put to rest when he came out and won in Saudi Arabia last weekend.
Surprises and more
The biggest surprise of the season through the opening two races has been the performance of Charles Leclerc.
It would have been easy to shrug off his win in the opening race as a bit of a fluke, but a 2nd place finish in Saudi Arabia might well be the proof we need that he is in this thing for the long haul.
He is one to keep an eye on this season.
Another surprise has to be how Lewis Hamilton has started the season.
After an offseason filled with uncertainty about his future in the sport, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised that he is off to a slow start.
Carlos Sainz also has to be considered to be in the mix for a championship based on his early performances.
He and Leclerc both race for Ferrari (-172) and are sitting at 1 and 2 in the driver standing right now.
To win a constructor championship, it takes solid performances from both drivers.
Verstappen might singlehandedly keep Red Bull Racing in the hunt, but he is going to need to see more from Sergio Perez if they are to stay the favorite and overtake Ferrari in the coming weeks.
Are the issues that Hamilton is seeing in the first couple of weeks a sign that he is rusty or is it a sign that Mercedes might be about to take a backward step?
Final Notes
There is no need to be too concerned just yet, as Hamilton and teammate George Russell are sitting in the top 5.
If Hamilton gets hot, we might just see the odds for Mercedes to win shorten a little.
We are not exactly certain as to who might take 3rd place, but we believe that there is going to be a comeback this weekend.
