Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer Saga Comes Closer to its End

The dream of many Real Madrid fans came close to becoming true as a return from Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish capital started taking shape, according to rumors. However, the thing became less romantic when analyzing the situation, as it’s known that the superstar’s agent, Jorge Mendes, offered the services of his client to both, Real Madrid and Atlético.

Either way, the possibility quickly came to an end, as Cristiano received yet another blow to its aspirations to leave Old Trafford. Both of the major Madrid teams rejected the Portuguese.

In the case of Atlético, due to economic reasons, and on the Real’s end, doesn’t seem to be space for the legend on the team’s plans.

Why is Cristiano Ronaldo seeking his exit from Manchester United?

At first, it seemed like the typical rumor from haters and dubious media. However, the Red Devils’ directive never gave a clear answer and the absence of the star in the team’s summer preparations set off the alarms. The spark started a fire that spread quickly and, it became public, that the absence from the Champions League and salary cuts were the main reason for Cristiano Ronaldo’s break out with the club’s directive.

A long transfer saga

What started as a nightmare for Manchester United fans soon became a circus of rumors and public declarations ruling out any possibility of signing CR7 by a plethora of major clubs. At the moment, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and both Madrid’s clubs have said no to a possible transfer, something that seemed inconceivable just some seasons ago, when Cristiano was still tearing the Champions League apart with Los Blancos.

A reality check for club and player

This can be a reality check for both, club and player, according to some media. On Cristiano’s end, it seems more obvious than ever that the best years are gone; being a 38 years old with high salary demands in today’s market isn’t very appealing.

On the other hand, on Manchester United’s end, things are not much better. In the supper competitive environment of today, history is not enough to attract major targets and, more importantly, keep them at the club. At the moment, is more obvious than ever that they need sporting success soon.

However, the end of this episode seems to be coming closer. If we will have Cristiano sticking to Old Trafford for another season, or making a trip to the USA (the most likely destination now), we don’t know.
