Visiting Fluminense’s good team at Maracanã, América was superior for most of the game and beat the hosts 2-0, extending Fluminense’s negative streak to three consecutive defeats. América took eighth place and Fluminense dropped to fifth.
Corinthians beat Athletico 2-1 at home; Fortaleza beat Avai 2-0. After beating Bragantino 2-1 at home, Coritiba won important points to move away from the relegation zone for another round.
Two games will still take place this Monday night: Atlético Goianiense vs. Palmeiras and Santos vs. Juventude. There are 7 rounds left for the end of the Brasileirão, we will certainly miss it!
