The 21st matchday in the Italian Serie A has arrived, and things are looking pretty good for Napoli, the current top team, as they have increased their lead at the front of the scoreboard, but they have to watch out, as Inter and Atalanta are pretty close behind on the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
After the top 3, there is a gap on the board to the 4th placed team, and that fight keeps relatively tight until we reach the 8th-placed teams, which means that Lazio, Juventus, and Fiorentina can’t be too comfortable in their current spots.
When we look at the bottom of the board, to the relegation zone, Venezia and Monza look kind of stuck in the deepest zone, while Cagliari is trying to crawl their way out, as they work their way to remain in the top flight.
For now, it is time to break down what we expect to be some of the most interesting matches we will be getting during the weekend for the Italian Serie A Matchday 21.

Juventus are not looking as strong as they did, their unbeaten score remains, but in addition to crashing out of the Supercoppa semis to Milan, after taking a 1-0 lead into the final 20 minutes, the Bianconeri have failed to convert from a winning position in each of their last three league matches – against Fiorentina, Torino in the Derby della Mole, and then away to Atalanta.
Another stalemate on Saturday would see Juventus draw four Serie A home games in a row for the first time since 2009, so they will hope to finally end that trend at the Rossoneri’s expense.
Milan is now looking to win back-to-back league matches for the first time since September, and if a top-four finish is to be salvaged from a season bedeviled by inconsistency, they cannot afford to drop many more points.
We are not sure that we can expect Juventus to get to their winning ways just yet, and Milan is likely going to put it all on the line, so another Draw for both teams may be the likely result.
Juventus vs. Milan Betting Pick: Draw

Atalanta was held on home turf by draw specialists Juventus earlier this week, as both sides caught up on a fixture delayed by their participation in the Supercoppa Italiana.
A first Serie A draw at the Gewiss Stadium followed seven wins and just one loss this term; while stretching back to last season, Atalanta have scored in all of their last 25 top-flight home fixtures, averaging 2.5 goals per game.
Therefore, the Europa League winners look to continue their recent dominance over Napoli.
However, Napoli have won their last three games without conceding a goal, and they will now be looking for their sixth straight victory since losing to Lazio in early December.
Set to fight it out with Atalanta and reigning champions Inter for the Scudetto, they have recorded the cleanest sheets across Europe’s top five leagues this season – an impressive tally of 12, which makes us believe that they will go home as victors in this clash.
Atalanta vs. Napoli Betting Pick: Napoli
Serie A Matchday 21: Fiorentina vs. Torino
When? | Sunday, January 19th at 6:30 AM ET, 5:30 AM CST, 4:30 AM MT, and 3:30 AM PT |

Fiorentina has been on a bad run in their last 5 matches, losing 4 and drawing one, which has really thrown them back from the top, as they were on an excellent pace earlier in the season, but now rack up 9 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses, placing them in the 6th spot.
However, they will host the 12th-placed Torino, who comes from 3 draws in a row, and this seems to be the one shot they need to get back to winning ways.
Torino’s lack of consistency may be the one thing required for Fiorentina to land the victory here at home, and we expect they will give their fans something to celebrate once they get to the field this Weekend.
Fiorentina vs. Torino Betting Pick: Fiorentina
Serie A Matchday 21:Â Inter vs. Empoli
When? | Sunday, January 19 at 2:45 PM ET, 1:45 PM CST, 12:45 PM MT, and 11:45 AM PT |
Where? | San Siro |

There is not much to say about this match, but we have to focus on Inter right here, as the 2nd placed team is looking to catch up to Napoli after breaking their win streak with a draw in their last outing.
Now the team has an easy chance to get back into the win column as they face a 14th-placed Empoli who keeps racking up losses in their most recent matches.
The fact that Inter will host this game just makes things extra difficult for Empoli to look competitive, so we will be eager to see how well Inter does as they try to close the gap at the top spots once again.
Inter vs. Empoli Betting Pick: Empoli
