The Copa de la Liga of Argentina will live its defining stage in 2023 and enjoy the quarterfinals, with games of great interest and without a clear favorite to be champion.
The most attractive match will be between Racing Club and Rosario Central, two clubs with high quality on the roster.
On the other side is River Plate, which qualified for the quarterfinals without problems and will now have to face a Belgrano team in the doldrums.
Godoy Cruz and Banfield will be looking to reach the semifinals, being two of the dark horses for the title. Meanwhile, Huracán, with a great performance in the round-robin, will face Platense, the revelation of the Primera Argentina Second Phase.

Huracán started the tournament thinking about not being relegated and ended it as the best team in the first phase, with 26 points. They are on a positive streak of three wins in a row and have not lost in five matches. The ‘Globo’ has an aesthetically pleasing soccer, accompanied by a defense that showed strength in the most crucial moments.
Platense got to the party on the last date, taking advantage of Central Córdoba’s slip. It is a big surprise at this stage, mainly because it has a poor goal-scoring record, with only 13 in favor, while conceding 16. They have only lost two of their last ten matches.
Huracán vs. Platense Betting Pick: Huracán

Godoy Cruz was one of the surprises in Group B of the Copa de la Liga, finishing second with 22 points, just two behind Racing Club. What’s more, a bad final run prevented them from finishing as leaders. This is a very sober team, which does not score many goals (14), but concedes fewer, allowing only 9. It was the second-best backline of the semester.
Banfield was another low-scoring team, but achieved the best defensive numbers, conceding only 6 goals in 14 matches. There is no doubt that the ‘Taladro’ will be looking for a game with a short result and will rely on the fact that they have not lost away from home for four games. Another fact in favor of this team is that they have only lost one of their last 10 matches against Mendoza’s club.

By history and squad, River Plate could be the great favorite to win the title, but it has three matches without a win, losing two to Rosario Central and Huracán. The team led by Martín Demichelis was second in Group A, with the best offense (24 goals), and Miguel Borja was the best scorer, with 6 goals, but had four games without scoring, and in two games he entered as a substitute player, and in other, he remained in the bench. They took 16 of 21 points at home.
Belgrano fought for first place for most of the first phase but finished third in Group B after losing 4-1 away to Racing on the last matchday. The team from Córdoba is not a good away team, having won only one game away from home and lost in its last two outings.
This match has a special spice, as the ‘Pirata’ sent River Plate to relegation in that historic promotion match in 2011.
River Plate vs. Belgrano Betting Pick: River Plate

Racing Club has had a strange semester, as it cut Fernando Gago’s process midway through the tournament, but could end the round-robin with a seven-game unbeaten streak and qualify first in Group B with 24 points. Interim coach Ezequiel Videla found a good performance, and Juan Fernando Quintero returned well to the starting lineup, scoring two goals in the last match (4-1 vs. Belgrano).
Rosario Central finished the first phase well, not losing in its last eight matches. They won five of them and drew three. But a large part of the campaign of Miguel Ángel Russo’s team was based on what they did at home, as they only took 5 out of a possible 18 points away from home.
The duel between the two ‘Academia’ may be the most entertaining of these quarterfinals.
Racing Club vs. Rosario Central Betting Pick: Racing
