Liverpool managed to hold on to first place in the Premier League thanks to a 1-0 away win over Crystal Palace thanks to Diogo Jota’s goal.

The Portuguese player took advantage of a great pass from Konstantinos Tsimikas to Cody Gakpo in the 8th minute, who set up Jota, who just pushed the ball into the back of the net.

Despite opening the scoreboard early, things did not get easy for the Reds, who had a great Alisson, saving on several occasions, even Palace scored a goal that was disallowed for offside.

The bad news for Liverpool was the injury of the Brazilian goalkeeper. Arne Slot’s side now has 18 points, while Oliver Glasner’s team has just three units and is in the relegation places.

A great match at Etihad ended in favor of Manchester City over Fulham by 3-2, thanks to a brace by Mateo Kovacic that turned the score around.

The visitors, who are having a very good tournament, took the lead in the 26th minute after a great assist from the Mexican Raul Jimenez for the Brazilian Andreas Pereira, who only pushed the ball.

However, the joy of the Londoners would be short-lived, as at 32′ Kovacic arrived with a shot inside the box after a corner kick. At the start of the second half, the Croatian scored his second with a similar shot from the edge of the box.

City would increase the lead in the 82nd minute with a powerful shot by Jérémy Doku from outside the box, but Rodrigo Muniz would bring Fulham back into the match in the 88th minute with a well-placed shot, impossible for Ederson.

In the end, the scoreboard remained unchanged, and the Cottagers left empty-handed, partly due to the poor performance of Adama Traoré, who missed three clear goal-scoring chances. Manchester City is second with 17 points, and Fulham is eighth with 11.

What seemed to be a very easy game for Arsenal ended up being very complicated, and they had to come from behind to win 3-1 against Southampton.

Despite having the ball, the Gunners could not score. Even in the first half, they only had one shot at goal, and it was at the end. The Sutton took advantage of that and, at 55 minutes, managed to open the scoreboard thanks to a ball recovery by Mateus Fernandes in the midfield and a long pass to Cameron Archer, who made a good personal play inside the area and defined cross for the 0-1.

But Southampton’s joy, which is in the penultimate place with only one point, was short-lived. Three minutes later, Flynn Downes gave a bad pass in defense and Bukayo Saka recovered it, later giving it to Kai Havertz for him to get the 1-1.

Ten minutes later, Saka would appear again with a great assist for Gabriel Martinelli, who hit a first-time shot between the near post and the goalkeeper to turn the score around.

Arsenal suffered after a Saints’ header against the post, but Saka was to appear at the end to give his team peace of mind thanks to a loose ball in the area. The Englishman took advantage of the gift from the Southampton defense and put the final 3-1 allowing the Gunners to reach 17 points and stay just 1 behind Liverpool.

In one of the most attention-grabbing games of the weekend, Aston Villa and Manchester United played out a goalless draw, a result that did neither side any favors.

Goals were expectedand we were left wanting. After a very bad first half, things improved in the second part. On the Villains’ side, a couple of shots that went wide, a great save by André Onana from a shot by Youri Tielemans, and in stoppage time, a shot by Jaden Philogene-Bidace hit the back of Diogo Dalot, who saved his team because the ball was already going in.

For the Red Devils, Dibu Martinez was required in two shots from Marcus Rashford, and the post denied a great goal from a free kick to Bruno Fernades, in what were the best opportunities for a team that tried but could not.

With this result, Aston Villa remained fifth with 14 points, four behind Liverpool, while Manchester United dropped to 14th with eight points.
