Matchday 14 of the Premier League delivered plenty of excitement, including Manchester City’s return to winning ways and Liverpool’s draw, which has allowed their chasers to close the gap.
After a poor run of form, City ended their suffering with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, while most teams welcomed the 3-3 draw between Newcastle and Liverpool, as it gave them a chance to inch closer to the Reds at the top of the table.

Chelsea dominated in their visit to Southampton, thrashing them 1-5 and climbing to 28 points, seven behind Liverpool. The Saints remain at the bottom of the table with just five units.
The Blues took an early lead in the 7th minute with a header from Axel Disasi off a corner kick. However, just four minutes later, an excellent solo effort by Kyle Walker-Peters led to an assist for Joe Aribo, who equalized the match.
But that moment was fleeting. At the 17th minute, a glaring error by goalkeeper Joe Lumley allowed Christopher Nkunku to make it 1-2, and Noni Madueke added to the lead in the 34th minute.
The Saints captain, Jack Stephens, was sent off after pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, leaving Southampton down to 10 men.
In the second half, a brilliant pass from Enzo Fernández set up Nkunku, whose shot was tapped in on the line by Cole Palmer. Late in the game, Jadon Sancho scored his first goal in a Chelsea shirt, sealing the emphatic 1-5 victory.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the eighth minute, redirecting a header from Kevin De Bruyne into the net. At the half-hour mark, it was KDB’s turn, as he received a pass from fellow Belgian Jérémy Doku and fired a powerful, angled shot to make it 2-0.
In the second half, Doku chased down a long ball from Erling Haaland, made a feint inside the box, and finished brilliantly to seal the 3-0 scoreline.
With this win, the Citizens climbed to 26 points, securing fourth place in the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest dropped to seventh with 22 points.

In the best match of the round, Newcastle and Liverpool delivered a thrilling spectacle that ended in an incredible 3-3 draw.
The Magpies took the lead in the 35th minute with a stunning goal by Alexander Isak, who struck from outside the box with a powerful shot into the corner.
In the second half, the Reds equalized with a sublime three-finger pass from Mohamed Salah, which Curtis Jones converted with a first-touch finish for another brilliant goal. Anthony Gordon restored the Toon’s advantage with an excellent move inside the box, leaving Joe Gomez on the ground before finishing low past Caoimhin Kelleher.
Liverpool turned things around with a brace from Salah, but in the 90th minute, a free kick from Bruno Guimarães slipped past everyone, and even Kelleher lowered his hands, thinking it was going out. Fabian Schär appeared at the far post to slide in and score the 3-3 from a very tight angle.
With this result, the Reds remain at the top of the table, now holding a seven-point lead over their closest challengers. Newcastle, meanwhile, sits in 12th place with 20 points.
