After the matchday 11 wrapped up, we got some interesting changes at the top of the Premier League scoreboards, as Tottenham has lost the throne, and now we have a new leader.
Not only do we get a power surge, but it seems like this was a great time for most of the teams in the middle, which are now closing the gap to the top and making it a more contested battle for the lead.
Talking about the Bottom 6 spots, most of them gave us the expected results, except for the bottom-placed Sheffield United, who managed to take 3 points home this time. Even though they haven’t gotten out of relegation, they caught up and are at arms reach from climbing out.
It was quite a wild ride, but we are getting to break down some of the crucial moments that paved the way for our new leaders.

Jeremy Doku scored and had a hand in four others as Manchester City romped to a 6-1 victory over Bournemouth, which sent them top of the Premier League. The electric Belgian winger played a one-two with Rodri on the half-hour mark before striking home for the opener. Soon afterward, he set up Bernardo Silva for the first of his two goals, drawing a defender and then picking out a pass for the Portuguese star to slide home.
A third arrived eight minutes before the break when Doku’s effort was deflected into the Bournemouth net by Manuel Akanji.
A fourth arrived just after the hour mark when Doku found Phil Foden in the box, and he drove home before the Cherries had a period of dominance rewarded by Luis Sinisterra netting 16 minutes before the break.
As Bournemouth looked for more goals they were caught on the break as Doku sent a long ball forward for Silva, and he beautifully dinked a finish over Andrei Radu. A sixth came from former Cherry Nathan Ake when he dived to head home Oscar Bobb’s cross.
City got tied for first place with Tottenham, getting the first position thanks to the goal difference.

Arsenal were left outraged at VAR’s decision to let Anthony Gordon’s goal for Newcastle stand on Saturday evening. The defeat against the Magpies ended the Gunners’ unbeaten run in the Premier League and saw them lose ground in the title race.
Mikel Arteta vented his frustrations following the full-time whistle, slamming VAR and claiming the decision to allow Gordon’s strike was a ‘disgrace’. Ultimately, VAR explained that there was not enough conclusive evidence to rule out the goal despite camera angles appearing to show that the ball had gone out of play before Gordon scored.
VAR also looked at a potential foul in the moments after Joe Willock’s cross, which saw Joelinton and Gabriel Magalhaes challenge for possession. The two Brazilians came together, but no foul was given despite Joelinton appearing to raise both arms into Gabriel’s back, forcing the defender to the floor.
VAR then took a look at whether Gordon was offside when he received the ball, but again, there was no clear evidence of when the ball left Joelinton to deem whether the Newcastle attacker was in an offside position. There were many other contentious decisions looked at by VAR during the game, including whether Bruno Guimaraes should’ve been sent off for an elbow on Jorginho.
This gave Arsenal a sour taste to end the day.

At the final whistle, Luis Díaz dropped to one knee alone outside the Luton Town penalty area and quietly stared at the turf, appearing deep in concentration. Maybe also prayer. What an extraordinary maelstrom of emotions the Liverpool forward must have felt after 10 days in which his parents were kidnapped back home in Colombia, with his father Luis Manuel still being held by a rebel group, and yet he summoned up the strength of character to return to the squad and earn a precious point.
So maybe it was a moment that mattered, after all, and mattered more than the result that set back Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes, even if such considerations are hard to frame in the context of what Díaz is going through.
He turned to training only on Friday, and it was surprising to see him even named among the substitutes, never mind come on as he had to do in the 83rd minute as Liverpool desperately chased the game.

Though five goals were scored at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, that barely told half the story, with another five ruled out by VAR, as well as those two red cards, not to mention there could have been several more and nine VAR checks across an unforgettable 90 minutes.
Chelsea moved into the top half of the Premier League table with a 4-1 win against Tottenham, who played more than 30 minutes with nine men.
After ending the first half tied (Kulusevski and Palmer), it was Nicolas Jackson who scored his first in the 74th minute, only to turn it into a Hat Trick in the added time, making the last two at the 94th and 96th minutes.
