One of the games that opened the curtain of this Premier League matchday 1 was between Ipswich, a newly promoted team, and Liverpool, which ended, as expected, with a victory for the latter.
The match started surprisingly balanced, as although the Reds had control of the ball, they could not generate much danger in the Ipswich area. As a result, the first half ended with a dull 0-0 scoreline.
However, things changed radically in the second half, as Liverpool went on the attack in such a way that, in the 60th minute, they managed to open the scoring with a great goal by Diogo Jota. That left the defense of the home team unsettled, and, just 5 minutes later, that was exploited by Mohamed Salah to score the definitive 2-0.

Arsenal started the season on the right foot with a resounding 2-0 home win over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.
While it is true that the squad quality difference between these two teams is big, it is worth noting that Wolves stood up defensively and managed, at times, to avoid a catastrophe.
Likewise, the Gunners managed to crack that defense in the 25th minute, after their striker Kai Havertz scored the first goal of the night.
Finally, in the 74th minute, Bukayo Saka scored a wonder goal to seal the deal.
Result: Arsenal (2) – (0) Wolves

The most anticipated match of this early season, Chelsea vs. Manchester City, ended with a resounding victory for Pep Guardiola’s team with a score of 2-0.
Although Chelsea played at home, it seemed that they could do absolutely nothing to overcome this City that, once again, looks powerful in their attempt to revalidate their title of champions.
The match started with an interesting back and forth, but, in the 18th minute, Erling Haaland scored the 1-0, to give the Citizens peace of mind at the beginning. After that, both teams had a few chances to score goals, but, none of them were fruitful.
Finally, Mateo Kovacic scored in the 84th minute to give Manchester City the victory in this away duel.
Result: Chelsea (0) – (2) Manchester City
Premier League Matchday 1: Leicester City vs. Tottenham

Where? | King Power Stadium |

Finally, we have Leicester City in their return to the Premier League, who managed an exciting draw against Tottenham Hotspur by 1-1.
The game was intense, especially considering Jamie Vardy, their 37-year-old star striker, is still in spectacular form. However, Tottenham opened the scoring through Pedro Porro in the 29th minute, when he scored a great goal to give Spurs peace of mind following their initial dominance.
The Spurs returned after the break inspired and playing beautiful football, but 12 minutes into the second half, a defensive lapse allowed a counter-attack by the locals, in which Vardy scored the 1-1. The Londoners keep showing the same defensive naivety that derailed them after a great start last season, but, it’s still too early to make conclusions.
Result: Leicester City (1) – (1) Tottenham
