Nico O’Reilly scored in the 85th minute, and Mateo Kovacic bagged an insurance goal in stoppage time to secure three pivotal points for City’s Champions League push.

We have to give it to Everton, who seemed like they were going to keep things tied until the end, but sadly, their party at home was spoiled.

This match had an outstanding performance from Aston Villa, who came in and claimed a significant win in the UEFA Champions League qualification race with a 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle United.

Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana struck either side of a Dan Burn own goal in the second half at Villa Park, where Unai Emery’s team thoroughly deserved their victory.

Ollie Watkins scored Villa’s opener in the first minute, which was quite a fast break, and we have to add that he could have had a perfect hat-trick before half-time, but he twice rattled the woodwork, with those chances coming to either side of Fabian Schar’s equalizer.

Newcastle was outgunned, but they did manage to score once.

Arsenal had the chance to help solidify their second-place position in the table and deny Liverpool the championship for at least another week. Equally, the win to the top-placed team spelled the end of Ipswich’s brief time in the top-flight of English football and condemned them to relegation.

Newcastle’s defeat to Aston Villa opened the chance to move seven points clear of the Magpies with just five games to play. And it looked like it was all motivation for the visitors, who came in and steamrolled Ipswich Town on a 4-0 score due to the performances of Leandro Tossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Ethan Nwaneri.

Now, the team prepares to keep the engine running at full speed in the final moments of the Premier League.
