Fulham vs. Aston Villa Preview and Betting Odds

Fulham vs. Aston Villa

Aston Villa has suffered several setbacks in recent matches and, as a result, has moved away from the Premier League title fight and the top four. To recover the smile, they must beat Fulham on the 25th matchday.

The Cottagers come from beating Bournemouth 3-1 with goals from Bobby De Cordova-Reid and a brace from Rodrigo Muniz.

The Villians lost their second home game this season, 2-1 to Manchester United, and have a losing streak of two in a row.

Why Bet on Fulham?

It was expected that after a good season last year, Fulham would leap, as Aston Villa and West Ham did, but it has not been the case, partly due to the departure of their star player, Aleksander Mitrovic.

In a good performance, the Cottagers have just beaten Bournemouth 3-1, thanks to Bobby De Cordova-Ried’s goal and a brace by Rodrigo Muniz.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has just three goals this season, but his brace last time out helped Fulham move up to 12th place and end a run of three games without a win.

So far, this team has won only eight games out of 24 while drawing five and losing 11. It does not score many goals (33), which is demonstrated by the fact that its best scorer is De Cordova-Reid, who has five conversions.

At home, the team is unbeaten in three games and has conceded only two goals in that span. Remarkably, they have only drawn once in front of their home fans.

Fulham has Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi back from the African Cup, but Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez is out with a muscle injury.

Why Bet on Aston Villa?

Aston Villa, at some point, was in second place, very close to the top of the Premier League, currently at the hands of Liverpool. But a bad streak has the team out of the next Champions League.

In their last match, they lost 2-1 against Manchester United. Rasmus Hojlund gave the Red Devils the lead, and Douglas Luiz equalized, but in the end, Scott McTominay sentenced the match in favor of the visitors.

That was only the second defeat at home in the league for Unai Emery’s men, who are the sixth-best away team in terms of points, with 18 out of a possible 36.

Their last away game was a 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United, but after that, they also lost at home to Chelsea in the FA Cup. So, they suffered two defeats in a row and three in the last four matches.

It’s of note that the Villans have one of the best players in the league, striker Ollie Watkins, who has 11 goals and 10 assists. However, he has been on a bad streak, having scored only twice in the last ten games.

Emery’s injury list is long, with Emiliano Buendia, Jhon Duran, Ezri Konsa, and Tyrone Mings out. However, none of them is a starter, so it’s not logical to attribute the team’s bad moments to that.

Final Betting Analysis: Fulham vs. Aston Villa

In the duel they played this season, Aston Villa won 3-1, thanks to goals from Antonee Robinson (against), John McGinn, and Ollie Watkins.  On the other hand, the last game played in London finished with a 3-0 victory for Fulham.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have Aston Villa as the favorite. The Moneyline for them shows 2.313, while Fulham has 3.08, and the draw is at 3.865.

Aston Villa’s present is not the best, but neither is Fulham’s, so both teams are needy for this Premier League matchday. The Villians had let points go against weak teams recently but never lost against rivals outside the top ten.  Meanwhile, the Cottagers don’t draw at home, so this match will end with a 1-2 in favor of the visitors.

Go for a straight win for Aston Villa in the Moneyline. If you bet $100 at 2.313, you will gain $131 for a total payout of $231.
