Artistic Gymnastics Men’s Team Final Preview

We continue to see the medals go all over the glove as the Paris 2024 Olympics continue. This time, we are taking a look towards the Artistic Gymnastics Men’s event, where the world is getting ready to see which country will be crowned as the king of teams in the male division.

There are eight teams in the fight when it comes to the Artistic Gymnastics Men’s Final, and they all went through the qualification round on Saturday, giving us a taste of how prepared they are for the upcoming final on Monday.

The teams kept the scores decently close during qualifications, but there is a chance they left some tricks in the back pocket, and we are more than eager to see them go all out once the Final arrives.

We will take the time to break down some of what went down on the qualifiers to point out who seems to be the strongest team out there for this upcoming event.

Betting Picks:

The U.S. arrived in Paris believing it had a legitimate chance to medal in the team competition for the first time since earning a bronze in Beijing 16 years ago.

However, it was the five-man Chinese team, missing veteran Sun Wei after he was injured during training last Thursday, that stamped itself as the favorite heading into Monday’s final.

Japan, the reigning world champion, dealt with a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes by current world and Olympic champion Daiki Hashimoto and finished at 260.594.

While the 22-year-old will get a chance to defend his title in the all-around, he won’t on high bar — his signature event — after stumbling during his dismount.

The scores will reset for the team finals, though the only real question is who will join China and Japan on the podium here.

Britain is in third after topping the first subdivision with 256.561. Ukraine overcame a nightmarish set on high bar to slip past the U.S. and into fourth at 253.893, with the Americans fifth at 253.229.

Britain sent a very real if unspoken message: it is more than capable of grabbing a bronze to go with the one it somewhat unexpectedly won in London a dozen years ago.
