Where Can I Watch it?
Why Bet on the New England Patriots?
It’s been 3 years and the Patriots still haven’t been able to shake Tom Brady leaving the organization. Ever since then the Patriots have been on a downward spiral that only time and a good quarterback can heal.
With pressure increasing on Bill Belichick to make some positive improvements this year, they will be looking to try and make it to the playoffs.
Mac Jones is entering his third season in the league and has yet to show any real consistency in his game. He put up decent, but not great numbers in 2022, finishing the year with 2,997 receiving yards with a 14-11 TD-INT ratio. New offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien is seen as a quarterback guru, but with rumors about head coach Bill Belichick being ready to move on from his first-choice quarterback, this is a make-it-or-break-it season for Jones.
Why Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?
It’s been quite some time since the Eagles entered a matchup with the Patriots while having the superior QB, but that’s been the case for nearly every team in the recent past.
After last year’s Super Bowl run, there a high expectations for quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. Hurts is expected to be an MVP candidate this season after finishing last year with 3,701 passing yards and 22 touchdowns.
The defense also has several University of Georgia standouts, providing both an abundance of talent and chemistry working together. Along with DB Darius Slay among the best in the game, they’re elite at all levels.
Final Betting Analysis: Patriots vs. Eagles
As mentioned, the Philly offense is dynamic. Hurts has WRs AJ Browns and Devonta Smith on the outside, along with TE Dallas Goedert, so defenses will be spread thin. Sure, they let RB Miles Sanders go this offseason, but he was arguably their most inconsistent weapon.
Regardless, they snagged dual-threat RB D’Andre Swift from the Detroit Lions to replace him. It feels like the perfect player, as his receiving ability out of the backfield is more needed than a true runner, as Hurts can handle that himself. Philly proved that they could lead an entire scoring drive with just QB sneaks if they wanted to.
Meanwhile, the Pats offense doesn’t possess strong weapons, and their acquisition of WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is looking worse by the day with his recent knee issues.
Defensively, the Eagles have some questions at safety, but those are unlikely to be answered on Sunday against an average passing offense.
It’s unfortunate for the Patriots that the unforgiving NFL calendar has placed the Eagles in their path for the very first game of the season. We think the team from Pennsylvania will come out soaring and defeat the Patriots comfortably. The Eagles can certainly cover the 4-point spread while doing so and we think they will win 30-12 in a blowout victory.
Go for a visitors’ victory at -204. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $49.02 for a total payout of $149.02.
