Last Updated on September 4, 2022 5:43 pm by Erwin Noguera

The new season of one of the most popular sports in North America, NFL is about to begin, and next Thursday, September 8, 2022, we will have the first game of a season that promises to be very exciting with several teams trying to prevent the Los Angeles Rams from repeating as champions in the next Super Bowl LVII.

The game that will kick off this new season will be as it has always been, between the reigning NFL championsLos Angeles Rams, playing at SoFi Stadium and hosting the Buffalo Bills this Thursday.

This will be the start of a 272-game road trip that will be played in this new season, ending with Super Bowl LVII to be played on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in GlendaleArizona.

The last NFL season was one of the most competitive in league history and was also the first in which each team played 17 regular season games.

The level of parity in the 2021 season was evidenced by the fact that 18 of the 32 teams were still in contention for the Super Bowl on the final day of the regular season, the most since there were 20 teams with aspirations in 2006.

There is also a very important fact to note: 21 games ended in overtime, including three in Week 18 that helped Las Vegas, Pittsburgh and San Francisco reach the playoffs.

With the championship obtained by the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, the streak of different champions has been extended for another year and now totals 17 seasons. Only eight teams have repeated as champions since the first Super Bowl in 1967, with the 2004 Patriots (Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX) being the last team to achieve this feat.

Now, here is a preview of the best games of this first week of the NFL championship, with their respective betting odds and our picks for winners

What better way to start an NFL season than a game between two teams that are favorites to play in Super Bowl LVII, the current champions, the Los Angeles Rams will host the Buffalo Bills at their home, SoFi Stadium on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 8:20 pm ET.

The Los Angeles Rams will try to start their championship defense in the best possible way against a team as complicated as the Buffalo Bills

It is not for nothing that they are the current champions, their main offensive weapons are Stanfford, Kupp, Van Jefferson and now with the addition of Allen Robinson, which will help them to cover the position of Odell Beckham, who is still unable to see action due to the injury in the anterior cruciate ligament.

On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills are labeled as one of the main favorites to reach the next Super Bowl LVII, with their main players Allen and Diggs along with a spectacular defense that had an extremely high-level last season, it would not be a surprise if the Bills are one of the teams to beat this season.

The Bills want revenge after what happened last season, where they were crushed by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round, with a score of 42-36.

On this opening day, we expect a very entertaining and, above all, very intense game, where the defenses of the teams will set the tone for the winner of the game. That is why our selection for this game is a fair victory for the Buffalo Bills.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Buffalo Bills Betting Pick: Buffalo Bills

Next Sunday, September 11, 2022, will be the first Sunday of the 2022-23 NFL season and one of the games we will be able to enjoy will be Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers at Soldier Field, home of the Bears.

The 49ers are coming off a 2021-22 season where they finished with a 10-7 record in the regular season and, with a truly incredible playoff, they reached the Conference Finals against the team that would eventually be crowned Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams, which ended with a score of 20-17 in favor of the Rams.

This season, Trey Lance will assume the role of starting quarterback after playing only 6 games in his rookie year. While Kyle Shanahan will have his sixth season at the helm of San Francisco, with two playoff appearances and one Super Bowl appearance.

On the other hand, the Chicago Bears need to turn around what happened last season, where they were unable to make the playoffs due to poor performance. The Bears’ record last season was 6-11.

Justin Fields will have a new opportunity to be the starting quarterback of the team, which is looking to improve its poor performance last season, where he only had 7 touchdown passes, with an overall rating of 73.2.

The Chicago Bears have not shown a good level of play in recent seasons, especially playing on the road. That is why we can say that the 49ers have too much talent for them, so our pick is a comfortable win for San Francisco.

Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers Betting Pick: San Francisco 49ers

NFL Week 1 – Preview – Bengals vs. Steelers – Info

When: Sunday, September 11 at 01:00 pm ET

Moneyline odds: Bengals -270 / Steelers +220 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

After 3 days of the start of the 2022-23 NFL season, on Sunday the actions will continue and most of the teams will play their first game of the campaign with the mission of obtaining a victory to be at the top of their conference.

One of these games will be between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, which will be on Sunday, September 11 at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals at 1:00 pm ET.

The Bengals come into this new season with the firm conviction of proving that they are not one of those teams that fizzle out after losing a Super Bowl, as happens on many occasions.

The Bengals have acquired a spectacular team identity thanks to coach Zac Taylor, and their main objective is to give joy to a city like Cincinnati that has not been in glory in any sport for many years.

Cincinnati is coming from being the runner-up of the NFL last season and, they are coming from a somewhat complicated preseason where they could only achieve a victory, precisely against the Rams, with a score of 16-7.

On the other hand, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue with the shadow of Roethlisberger, the player who was their emblem for almost two decades, still looming over the franchise, and replacing him is quite a challenge.

The Steelers acquired Mitch Trubisky from free agency and drafted Kenny Pickett in their first round of the draft, with hopes pinned on the rookie who had a dream season at the University of Pittsburgh in 2021, where he became a Heisman Trophy finalist.

The preseason was a success for the Steelers, they managed to win all 3 games they played proving that they are a different team this season.

Similarly, we believe that the Bengals are far superior in every way to the Steelers and that is why our prediction is a victory for Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

NFL Week 1 – Preview – Cardinals vs. Chiefs – Info

We close the preview of the best games of the first week of the NFL with the game between the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs, which will be played next Sunday, September 11, 2022, at State Farm Stadium, home of the Cardinals.

This matchup has occurred 13 times since 1970, with the Chiefs leading the all-time series with a 9-3-1 record.

Kansas City has claimed victory in 4 of the last 5 games played between them, with the last game played in the 2018 season, where they claimed a 26-14 victory.

The Chiefs have managed to win the AFC West for 6 consecutive seasons and have contested the playoffs in 7 straight seasons. They will begin their quest to extend this great streak with quarterback Patrick Mahomes still leading the team, although this will be the first season without WR Tyreek Hill, who was traded to Miami in the dead season.

They are coming off a close 27-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in last season’s Conference Finals.

On the other hand, the Arizona Cardinals started last season with a spectacular record of 7 wins without losses and then extended to 10-2, but then lost 4 of their last 5 games in the regular season and were crushed by the Rams in the first round of the playoffs.

Now, this season with quarterback Kyler Murray’s big contract extension they are hoping to get back to postseason play, just without the late-season collapse.

For this game, our pick is a close win for the Kansas City Chiefs when they visit the Cardinals.
