The National Football League (NFL) heats up on August 3, when the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets will face off for the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2023 Preseason at Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
The 2022 NFL season had a historic finish as the top two teams in the American and National Conferences, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively, squared off in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
The Chiefs ended up winning 38-35 with a historic performance by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl MVP by completing 21 of 27 throws and three touchdown passes.
It was a historic year for Mahomes, who had already won the Regular Season Most Valuable Player award. The Chiefs quarterback became only the sixth player in NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL history to win multiple MVP awards for a game or championship round in his first six seasons as a professional. On that list are only Bobby Orr, Magic Johnson, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Tim Duncan.

In addition, for the NFL it was a historic campaign, as they were able to take the league abroad with three games in London, one in Germany, and one more in Mexico, which speaks to the internationalization of American football.
The NFL preseason will begin with the Browns and Jets because both have players who will be in the Hall of Fame, such as Joe Thomas, Joe Klecko, and Darrelle Revis.
But these two franchises are not the ones that generate the most expectations in the league, as the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Chiefs are the ones everyone calls to compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The 2023 Preseason will kick off in full on August 10, with an average of 16 games per week.
There will be three weeks of action for the teams to warm up before the regular season kicks off, which is scheduled for September 8 with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Detroit Lions.

The stars that the Draft brings
The expectation in this Preseason is also to see the new jewels of the NLF, mainly Trevor Lawrence, who was selected first overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The quarterback could see action on August 12 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Another quarterback generating interest is Zach Wilson, who was selected second overall by the Jets. In the New York team, he will have a guru as Aaron Rogers and his debut could be on August 3 against Cleveland.
Finally, via trade, the San Francisco 49ers received Trey Lance, who was selected by North Dakota State. The first opportunity to show his talent would come on August 13 with the Las Vegas Raiders.
