Why bet on the New York Jets?
It’s clear that the New York Jets want to leave behind their lack of competitiveness, and this year they’re aiming to qualify for the postseason, at least as a wild card.
Despite their 23-18 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, they showed they can compete at a high level in this league, as a close game against such a strong opponent puts them under the spotlight.
The Jets’ issue came in the first quarter, where they struggled to string together effective offensive drives, allowing the Vikings to take the lead they needed to seal the win.
It wasn’t Aaron Rodgers’ best night, as he threw two touchdown passes but was intercepted three times. The 40-year-old veteran missed 25 of the 54 passes he attempted. He is seeking to find his best form after missing the entire 2023 season, but his 61% pass completion rate falls short of what he achieved in his last years with the Green Bay Packers.
The Jets have a 2-3 record, sitting second in the AFC East behind the Bills. Their offense has struggled, scoring just 93 points, but their defense has been a bright spot, allowing only 85 points andaveraging 17 per game.
Leki Fotu has been injured since October 2nd but could make a return. Rodgers, Michael Carter II, Morgan Moses, and C.J. Mosley are listed as questionable.
Why bet on the Buffalo Bills?
Last season, the Buffalo Bills took control of the AFC East Division and are hoping to repeat that performance this year. However, the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are teams they can’t afford to overlook.
The Bills are coming off a 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans. It was a terrible night for quarterback Josh Allen, as he only completed nine of the 30 passes he attempted, a small figure compared to his opponent, C.J. Stroud, who went 28 for 38.
It was Allen’s worst performance of the season so far, but it’s worth noting that his overall play has been excellent throughout 2024. He has thrown eight touchdown passes and has yet to be intercepted.
Allen remains the key reason the Bills hold a 3-2 record and lead their division. They are one of the most potent offenses in the AFC, having scored 142 points.
On the downside, Buffalo has lost twice on the road and secured only one away win.
Darrynton Evans will not be available for Monday’s game, while Ed Oliver, Khalil Shakir, James Cook, Curtis Samuel, Taron Johnson, and Austin Johnson are listed as questionable.
Final Betting Analysis: Jets vs. Bills
Last season, both teams split their two meetings, but Buffalo leads the all-time series with a 69-58 record.
The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have Jets as the favorite, as the Moneyline for them shows 1.86, meanwhile Bills has 1.96.
There’s no doubt this will be a close matchup, but the New York Jets will take advantage of the Bills’ weaknesses on the road and come away with the win, evening their record at 3-3. Go for the OVER.
Go for a win for the Jets. If you bet $100 at 1.86, you will gain $86 for a total payout of $186.
