As every year, Christmas Eve comes with the final weeks of the NFL regular season, and the holidays bring some great football between the teams fighting for a postseason berth. Except for some notable exceptions, the fate of many divisions is still up in the air, life and death battles are all over the place.
Two teams playing for not only their record but their confidence going into the postseason will face off. The Dolphins are trying to leave behind their poor performance against contending teams with winning records. While the Cowboys are trying to shake off the reputation of being choketastic when the pressure is on.

The Dolphins lead the AFC East with 10 wins and 4 losses, with an excellent record at home this season with 6 wins and only 1 loss. 🤔
Miami rebounded last week after a primetime upset. The defense had their first shutout of the season as they beat the New York Jets 30-0. The offense was without star receiver Tyreek Hill. In his absence, Jaylen Waddle had eight catches for a season-high 142 yards and a touchdown. Raheem Mostert scored twice to set the franchise record with 20 touchdowns on the season.
As we’ve said many times before throughout the season, this team seems to have a mental block against franchises with a positive record and it’s not going to get any easier for the fins, after this game against the Cowboys, they’ve got none other than the Ravens and Bills on their schedule. A loss here could put their divisional crown at stake, even though they have the Wild Card pretty much assured.
The X Factor here is confidence. The Dolphins haven’t been a great post season franchise in decades. As any NFL knows, timing and confidence are more important in the playoffs than a regular season record.
Why Bet on the Cowboys?

The Cowboys are picking up the pace after being humbled by the Buffalo Bills in their most recent match. Even though they have clinched their playoff spot, they look like less than a championship team and more like a struggling mid franchise when they’re on the road.
Dak Prescott might have fallen out of the MVP race with an abysmal performance in Dallas’ 31-10 beatdown at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. The quarterback threw for a season-low 134 yards and didn’t throw a touchdown for only the second time this season. The Cowboys are 3-4 on the road.
The loss was especially damaging, as they couldn’t take advantage of the Eagles’ loss. Now Philadelphia faces a much lighter schedule, having two teams with losing records (Cardinals and Giants {twice}), while Dallas must play against the Dolphins and the best Lions team in decades before closing the regular season curtain.
Dolphins vs. Cowboys Best Best
The Dolphins are strong at home, with their lone loss coming two weeks ago against the Titans. The Cowboys struggle on the road and are 3-4 away from Arlington.
But the Dolphins suck against the strongest teams in the NFL, Kyle Irving from the Sporting News said it best:
Tyreek Hill (ankle) should be back in the lineup for the Dolphins, who are 6-1 at home and need a win over a contender to show they’re a true post-season franchise that deserve the Lombardi. We don’t like the Cowboys traveling on back-to-back weeks, and the Dolphins could follow Buffalo’s game plan of pounding the football on the ground to their advantage.
We’ll go for the upset as the Dolphins’ poor record against good teams makes them far from a lock. The Cowboys are the choke masters (if you’re European they bottle clutch games) but McCarthy and the Cowboys have something to prove. They’ll come out swinging hard this week to redeem themselves from last weeks loss to the Bills.
Go for a victory for the Cowboys at 2.16. If you bet $100, you could win $116 for a total payout of $216 at the Gambyl Sports Betting Exchange.

Why should smart players use Decimal odds instead of American odds?
American odds like the Imperial system are nonsense, with decimal odds you simply need to multiply your (stake * decimal odds) to understand your potential winnings. No more insane calculations that don’t really do a bettor any good.
