Why Bet on the Chargers?
The Chargers had an opportunity to join Kansas City at 3-0 last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the Steelers shut them down and may have eliminated some of their best players as well.
The locals come worried about the injuries, as they suffered some early departures in the last match, including their Quarterback, who would have been a key player in this match. Justin Herbert is dealing with a high ankle sprain, which got worse in the second half of the duel in Pittsburgh.
Star safety Derwin James will miss this weekend’s game due to a suspension. Meanwhile, edge rusher Joey Bosa, left tackle Rashawn Slater, and Joe Alt is questionable alongside the QB for health issues.
Taylor Heinicke could play a role again if Herbert doesn’t recover, but his performance as a substitute last game was questionable at best, as he was sacked three times after entering the pitch.
Why Bet on the Chiefs?
The Chiefs continued to show why they are the defending Super Bowl Champions, as they keep pushing their undefeated run. Still, team is not convincing a lot, with star Patrick Mahomes doing just the necessary to move the team toward victory.
Despite Travis Kelce’s early-season struggles and injuries to Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City offense hasn’t missed a beat. Rashee Rice has stepped into a massive role, emerging as one of the best receivers in the NFL. Also, the defense has been extremely solid and performed well in key moments.
The Chiefs have found themselves in several close games, but they have emerged unscathed as one of the few undefeated teams left standing in the NFL.
Final Betting Analysis: Chargers vs. Chiefs
The Chargers were beaten up in Pittsburgh. Justin Herbert reaggravated his ankle injury, LT Rashawn Slater suffered a pectoral injury, rookie RT Joe Alt injured his knee, and OLB Joey Bosa sustained a hip injury in the defeat. Those aren’t the players you want to be injured when facing the defending Super Bowl champs.
This is all going to depend on Justin Herbert’s health. If he cannot go, we’d back the Chiefs at full speed. But if Herbert somehow plays, the Chargers at least have a (slim) fighting chance. We’ll go for a victory for the visitors at the UNDER.
Go for a win for the Chiefs at 1.83. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $83 for a total payout of $183.
