Bellator 274 Round-Up – Gracie vs. Storley – Review and Fight Analysis
Neyman Gracie vs. Logan Storley
Our Pick: Neyman Gracie
Outcome: Logan Storley gets the upset with a unanimous decision win.
As it usually happens when two high-level grapplers meet, the fight remained standing.
Storley managed to control the stand-up fight with a clear advantage, clearly taking the first two rounds.
Gracie managed to return the favor and put pressure on the 3rd and 4rth round, letting things figure themselves out in the fifth.
After a heavily contested fifth round, things went in favor of the American fighter, who got his hand raised in the end.
Andrei Koreshkov vs. Chance Recountre
Our Pick: Andrei Korshkov
Outcome: Koreshkov smokes Recountre with a Spinning back kick and punches TKO.
Seeking to make it three straight wins (and two in the Bellator cage), Koreshkov was paired up with UFC alumni Chance Rencountre.
For Rencountre, it was a short-notice assignment, after Mukhamed Berkhamov dropped out of the bout.
In the end, it didn’t last long as Rencountre folded quickly.
Koreshkov drilled him with a spinning back kick to the ribs.
Rencountre tried to hit a body lock on Koreshkov immediately after the blow.
He was unable to, as his body was already shutting down.
Once the man hit the canvas, Koreshkov moved in for the kill.
A couple of follow-up strikes later, and the ref dove in to make the save.
Georgi Karakhasyan vs. Adam Piccolotti
Our Pick: Adam Piccolotti
Outcome: Piccolotti dominated the fight for a unanimous decision.
After 3 rounds, Piccolotti managed to get the favor of all judges, managing to take two cards with a 29-28 score, and one of the judges gave him a 30-27.
Thanks to his control of the pace and distance, he managed to keep his momentum going forward.
Davion Franklin vs. Said Sowma
Our Pick: Davion Franklin
Outcome: Davion Franklin gets the victory in a Split Decision.
Davion Franklin was on the attack early on each round this Saturday.
He backed Sowma up along the cage, firing a sidekick as Sowma circled out of harm’s way.
Franklin once again came out swinging for the fences to start round two.
his kicks seemed to have everything behind them.
Sowma would catch Franklin early in the third, but Franklin answered back.
Franklin appeared to have slowed a step in the final round, but his power was a threat during the whole fight.
If there was a path to victory for Sowma, it was winning the small battles, and grinding away on the powerhouse Franklin.
But at the end of the round, it was Franklin landing on top for a takedown, and throughout the fight, his power was a constant factor.
It likely proved to be the deciding factor as well.
The Aftermath – Storley is on the path to a title fight.
Our predictions landed 3 out of 4 matches correctly, and with an exciting fight like the one we had on the main event taking place, there is no reason to be angry about getting it wrong.
With things going on their current path, Storley managed to get himself on the title picture after capturing the win, and we expect to see the fight taking place soon.
