MLS Matchday 3 Preview and Free Picks

Matchday five of the regular season of the MLS is coming our way, and we are expecting it to be a fun one, even though one of the board leaders, Inter Miami, is going to be having a bye week.

Philadelphia, Columbus, Charlotte, and Nashville are all going to be busy trying to push forward in the Eastern Conference. While Vancouver, St. Louis, Colorado, and Minnesota work their way up, San Diego FC is the only team on a Bye week out of the top 5 in the Western Conference.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are the team to look out for this season, having a perfect run in their season so far, and their run has started to make the other teams worry, as they have shown no weakness and don’t seem to be slowing down soon.

We believe that this is just the right time to tune in to the campaign if you haven’t been watching before, and we are going to dive into what we believe will be some of the most interesting matches to look out for in the upcoming 5th Matchday of the regular MLS season.

MLS Matchday 5 – Minnesota vs. LA Galaxy

When?Saturday, March 22 at 4:30 pm ET, 3:30 pm CST, 2:30 pm MT, and 1:30 pm ET
Where?Allianz Field
Where Can I Watch It?Apple TV and Fox

This clash puts two teams on opposite paths going against each other, but it also has some back story that makes it a real interesting clash.

The hosts, Minnesota, are looking to get back at LA Galaxy after the beating in the Semifinals, so the fact that they have been having such a good season so far while LA Galaxy is surprisingly at the bottom of the Western Conference will give them such a confidence boost as they return the favor.

We expect the hosts to get an easy win here.

Minnesota vs. LA Galaxy Betting Pick: Minnesota

MLS Matchday 5 – Philadelphia vs. St. Louis

When?Sunday, March 22 at 7:30 pm ET, 6:30 pm CST, 5:30 pm MT, and 4:30 pm PT
Where?Subaru Park
Where Can I Watch it?Apple TV and Fox

Things are going to be heated in this match, as we have two teams who are looking pretty strong in their season.

The U’s are after their fourth win of the process, but their performance in the last league match is not fuelling fans with optimism.

South African defender Olwethu Makhanya is banned for the home side, while both Markus Anderson and Isaiah LeFlore remain in the treatment room.

St. Louis City, on the other hand, aims to build on back-to-back wins over Los Angeles Galaxy and Seattle Sounders. Olof Mellberg’s troops are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Philadelphia, and we predict that both teams will find the net in Sunday’s clash.

The likes of Rasmus Alm, Jake Girdwood-Reich, Jayden Reid, and Michael Wentzel are sidelined with injuries for the away team.

We expect a high-scoring draw to play out when these two teams meet.

Philadelphia vs. St. Louis Betting Pick: Draw

MLS Matchday 5 – Columbus vs. New York City

When?Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 pm ET, 6:30 pm CST, 5:30 pm MT, and 4:30 pm ET.
Where?Lower.com Field
Where Can I Watch It?Apple TV and Fox

The hosts will be going all out, having shared the spoils with the newcomers San Diego, Columbus Crew will look to record their third win of the season when New York City walks into their turf.

Defender Malte Amundsen is banned for the hosts, while all Lassi Lappalainen, Nicholas Hagen, and Rudy Camacho are major doubts.

The Blue Pigeons aim to build on back-to-back wins over Orlando City and New England Revolution, but beating Columbus on the road is easier said than done.

As New York City defender Nico Cavallo limped off with an injury in the last league match, Birk Risa should be recalled to the starting XI. With both sides managing to find the net in each of their previous five meetings in MLS, we expect a close match to play out and likely end in a DRAW.

Columbus vs. New York City Betting Pick: Draw

MLS Matchday 5 – Vancouver vs. Chicago

When?Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 pm ET, 9:30 pm CST, 8:30 pm MT, and 7:30 pm ET
Where?BC Place
Where Can I Watch it?Apple TV and Fox

The Canadian team could not have wished for a better start to the season, as they are leading the board with a perfect run. Boss Jesper Sorensen is doing a great job with Vancouver, but the 51-year-old tactician must warn his men against complacency.

Sorensen has no fresh injury worries ahead of Chicago Fire’s visit, and that is great news for the current leaders.

The visiting team has back-to-back wins over FC Dallas and Toronto FC. As Chicago Fire has improved offensively, it might be quite a fun match to watch, but Vancouver Whitecaps defeated Chicago Fire 1-0 in their last meeting, and we think there is a big chance the home team gets it done again.

Vancouver vs. Chicago Betting Pick: Vancouver Whitecaps
